Mardley Heath is a really lovely place to take a walk. There are a number of different parking spots. If you are travelling along the B197 from Knebworth you will go through Woolmer Green and as you climb the hill towards Oaklands there is a turning on your right just before you cross the railway. Travel along this road and there are parking spots at various different locations along the road. If you continue travelling along this road it is a large crescent and will bring you back onto the B197 in Oaklands village. There are a number of different tracks to take through the woods and you can be there for a couple of hours and still not cover it. I have visited a number of times and still barely scratched the surface. It's a great place to go for a stroll but be mindful if there has been rain, it can get a little slippy!

There's seldom more than a few people here, mostly walking their dogs. Parking is easy, the paths are only occasionally muddy, hunting for colourful fungi in the autumn is fun and the bluebells in spring are a joy.
