About
The white and green striped stalls of Truro Farmers Market are at the grassroots of Cornwall’s culinary scene; come and discover the best produce our county has to offer! Soak up the smells of freshly baked bread and smoked fish, rows of perfect blue duck eggs, preserves in a rainbow of colours and cakes to make your mouth water. A friendly welcome is guaranteed from the traders, some of whom are truly artisan in scale and others who are courted for their produce by the famous chefs of Cornwall and beyond. As well as the weekly markets on a Wednesday and Saturday, Truro Farmers Market also ‘pops up’ in Falmouth on the pedestrianised area known as The Moor every Tuesday.

My husband and I went to Truro Farmers Market today and had an amazing lunch from ‘The Smoking Longhorn’. Their belief and passion for their localised smoked brisket and pork is to be admired.. the brisket and pulled pork is easily at restaurant standard.. such lovely people serving.. easy to talk to and very passionate on explaining how they slowly cook the meats and make the rubs and coleslaws from scratch.. will definitely be having more from them in the future...

Thank you so much for your review Lynn! We totally agree, the Smoking Longhorn's street food is incredible and we are very lucky to have them at our market every week! We hope to see you at the market again soon!

Wonderful energy today at the Market. Sellers and buyers all in a positive and happy mood through the sunshine and showers. vendors with such a wide range of Cornish
goods: food, veg, healthy plants, antiques, signs , bee wraps, willow work, wooden furniture, delicious coffee, international snacks, Cheese, honey , Gin , Rum , chilli, asparagus, bread, fish ..... All made with love and care with such thought for the product. We spent a good hour or two chatting to the very friendly, knowledgable store holders and buying their wares. It was so lovely to see handmade and local produce at such good value, all in the centre of Truro. This is such an asset to Truro.
Thank you

I always try to find something special when I go to an outdoor market and I did. At Truro Farmers Market I found Daddy D's Kitchen.

The menu is strictly Caribbean and primarily Jamaican, what can I say other than, fantastic find!!

Deliciously favored meats accompanied with tasty rice and beans a staple of Caribbean cooking,

Daddy D, himself was a warm and friendly tower of a man with a ready smile and the most delightfully accented voice.

I go back for the food every chance I get.

On special occasions there are special little treats of sweets and drinks not readily found on this side of Cornwall. For a truly delightful and adventurous treat, I say try it today!!

I've had the Jerk Chicken, the spicy Curry Goat and Chicken..a must try!!

This is not a farmers market. It’s just a market which is taking trade away from all the local shops and business owners that work hard all year round. Another scheme by idiots to rip people off as they sell the same in the supposed farmers market as other shops in Truro that are open 7 days a week. Will not visit again.

Hi Amy, thanks for your review. It does however sound like you have visited the wrong place? If so, we will of course accept your apology but if sadly not, here is some information on our market to reassure you (and any future visitors). We are most definitely a farmers market with fresh local local produce at the heart. We have regularly at our market, farmers and prime producers from all over Cornwall including: a fabulous fishmonger from the Lizard, a beef farmer from St Newlyn East, a pork farmer from Perranporth, a chicken farmer from Tresillian, organic veg farm from St Agnes, a local farmhouse bakery from Newquay (who also rears all their own animals and grows produce on their farm for their pasties and pies), a Chilli farm from Summercourt and a fab fruit and veg farmer from Halvasso. We also have two excellent award winning plant stalls, local cheese stalls, preserves, local distilleries, breweries and and array of artisan producers who make products using local Cornish farmed ingredients. Market day in Truro brings huge footfall to the City and this in turn supports all the shops, many of which tell us that market day is their best day of the week. We are not just 'another scheme run by idiots' (as you so kindly put) but in fact we are a well established farmers market (run by a coop of yes 'farmers') that has been operating in Truro for over 22 years now. We have also just been announced as one of the BEST Food Markets in the UK see here - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-best-food-markets-in-the-uk-shop-alfresco-npzwcjn27?fbclid=IwAR2CYE1Jb-YSCneyrb3RUSP0BTCyjy8F-RRpaohxFGiiDQfdiyzbrp1rlqc We are a non profit organisation and there is no charge to visit the market. Produce from all stalls is very competitively priced too! I hope the above helps to persuade and reassure you over your concerns and comments and we look forward to welcoming you back soon Amy. Best wishes

Very diverse market with all sorts of local products from Cornish Sea Salt to locally caught fish, locally made bread, pasties and cakes as well as cheese, plants, house signs, wicker work, wood work and many other stalls. Well worth a visit if you are in Truro on a Weds or Saturday. Most stall holders take cards. They have adapted well to keep people safe during the pandemic and have a one way system in order to help with the social distancing.

Truro Farmers market has to be one of the most organised markets I've been to. I'm there most Wednesdays and Saturdays and it's refreshing to see the range of local produce etc. Beautiful set up and well organised. ❤

Still a shadow of its former self, I'm looking forward to this friendliest of local markets perking up as we come out of lockdown (again). High spots are the local veg stall where I bought delicious perpetual spinach, the cheese stall where I bought possibly the nicest goats' cheese in Cornwall, the Cornish Duck company stall where I bought smoked duck breast and duckburgers, and my regular three bars of wonderful raw cacao bars from Food of the Gods. Gets a specific mention because I had a free sample of raw chocolate ice cream which was, to put it mildly, orgasmatronic.
Last but by no means least is Landmark coffee stall which I swear has the best coffee in Cornwall and where I am happily educating myself to become an even bigger coffee snob than I already am.

What a fantastic market. I visit regularly on Saturdays and love all of the variety and quality of goods on offer. All the food and drink is Cornish made so I really feel that I'm supporting local. There's everything from fish, bread, chocolate, coffee to Cornish Sea Salt. Definitely worth a visit.

It was lovely around the laid back and jolly atmosphere market. I could have bought something from every stall. A very relaxed, jolly atmosphere.
Our purchases included homemade pie, samosas, bhaji, locally grown and made kimchi and sublime Landmark coffee. ☕
There was homemade chocolate, cakes, fruit and veg stall, carribean stall - to name a few. A great shopping experience and taste bomb!
