The experience was good as a family having time off electronics and being In each other’s company. The location is very nice and picturesque. It’s a place to go to take time out of the hustle of life. The majority of the area has no phone signal at all. There is hot water and electricity. The rooms are comfy and nicely done.
It is aimed more at individuals or groups that need some away time or to do something different.
It could be made a lot more family friendly but would then loose its appeal to the outdoor living and self sufficient way.
There’s a lot of places to sleep but if you or your kids are worried about spiders and creepy crawly bugs and insects It’s definitely not for you. If you are taking kids you would have to keep a close eye on them.

The Dream Wild Weekend with friends
Aug 2017 • Friends
The setup was stunning. An isolated, hidden spot beside the sea - away from the busy roads and surrounding towns and villages, surrounded by nature. Cool and quirky accommodation, awesome central campfire area to gather around and decent facilities. Really enjoyed washing in the sea each day and eating proper local wild food. The setup was awesome, but our instructors made it incredible. Stu and Jay were top guys, educating a group of idiotic lads, great sense of humour and patience of saints! 7th Rise, you provided one of the best weekends away I can remember for a long time. Can't recommend or thank you enough. Bravo!

Unique wild adventure! Amazing experience
Aug 2017 • Couples
We stayed in the treehouse for two nights, did the foraging course and came away with two new friends who joined us at another campsite afterwards! It is a truly unique experience, completely secluded and gives you the opportunity to do things that you would never normally have the opportunity to do.
All of the accommodation is really cool - it is basic but has everything you need. Be prepared to get creative to make your own showers though! That's an experience in itself. Would recommend this if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life and are lovers of the outdoors. It's nothing like we have experienced before and cant wait to go back.
We had Stuart on the foraging course - he was so knowledgeable and we learnt so much and got to learn new cooking skills too (and tried his microbrewery beer 👍).
Izzie met us when we arrived and showed us around and was lovely too.
One evening we went out and caught our own shrimps, picked some seaweed and cooked them for dinner. It was brilliant.

10 out of 10 and a big thumbs up from us :)

A fantastic, hidden-gem which gives you a real sense of adventure and a flavour of the area's rich natural resources!

I visited 7th Rise as part of a group of men in our late-twenties. It had been billed as a bit of an 'adventure weekend' and that's exactly what it turned out to be! We built camp-fires, foraged for our lunch, skinned and carved a deer to make venison burgers and drank plenty of the local Cornish ale which flows from kegs in the house. Accommodation is basic yet comfortable and ranges from bedrooms in the house, to a tree-house, to a small boat converted into a double room right on the shore of the estuary.

The location is beautiful, set-back from the nearest road via a 20 minute walk across fields (it gets muddy - bring wellies or walking boots!) and right on the banks of the River Fal. On the Saturday night, we took a small boat down the river to Falmouth for a night out, which took about 40 minutes.

Stu, our host, was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating (and tolerant!).

Would highly recommend!

Truly Unique Stag Do Experience
Jul 2017 • Friends
I genuinely could not recommend 7th Rise enough as an alternative but exceptional Stag Do location. Matt and Jay were superb hosts with excellent knowledge, patience and guidance through the weekend, serving up delicious natural food and fun and games whilst also teaching us all about the value of nature. The setup and location is perfect for those wanting to escape the usual stag do distractions.

Stag Do with a difference.

Such an amazing place to get away from it all. Chilled pace with friendly and knowledgeable instructors who knew when to join in the fun and when to slide into the background.

Can't recommend this place enough. Yes it's off the beaten track. Yes it's a weekend 'camping' (although the huts and buildings are all ace) with the associated muck and stuff. But it was all totally worth it.

A real life re(treat)
Jun 2015 • Couples
We were lucky enough to have the whole of the 7th Rise pretty much to ourselves, and a truly amazing experience it was.
Passing wild deer whilst getting a bit lost finding our way there, the stillness once we arrived, just the very surroundings, cooking under the house late at night, sleeping and waking up in the elevated tree-house, exploring the woods and coast we were sandwiched between the next morning.
Just wished we had a little more time to settle in to it and experience all the activities we could see work stations for, namely the knife making, butchery and cocktail bar.
Next time...

Beautiful place - amazing weekender!

Thank you 7th Rise for a stunning weekend! A beautiful location, tucked away in Cornwall. Met some great people, and talked into the night around the campfire, delicious, local food made from scratch. Slept under the stars in the Hammock village 🌅 Had some serious time out from the city! Spent time jumping into the river and Wild Swimming ☺️, caught my first fish! Even skinned a rabbit. Would highly recommend to others to get wild and to learn new skills.
Thank you Andy - for your lyrical wit around the fire, Stuart - for delicious food and some amazing cocktails 😁🙋 and Thom too for making us all feel so welcome! xxx
