This a a lovely traditional pub belonging to Skinner's brewery. Think wooden floors with wood chippings on the floor to add to the effect. As it is the brewery's own pub, there's an excellent selections of Skinner's beers (and very nice too), but a wide selection of others as well. There's also a big barrel of monkey nuts - you... Visited quite recently. The atmosphere was great the staff very friendly. The food even better - I recommend the steak... Its a proper Cornish pub, locally-brewed beers and ciders with a yummy seasonal food menu.

We haven't been here for a long time and it hasn't changed. An excellent range of ales which the barman was happy to explain and offer the right one for my taste. The food a Skillet of steak and Stilton plus a hand of melted cheese and bacon were also very very good. All this and add in some nuts!

I visited this pub in June and returned in my next visit to Cornwall with my sister as I enjoyed the personalising of the Gin. You can choose from an extensive gin menu and then add your own choice of botanicals. Beautiful glasses too. The monkey nuts on the floor is quirky though we never actually were offered any, it... My wife and I visited with our dog after stopping by Skinner's Brewery. The bartenders were both very friendly and set us up with some tasting flights of the Skinner's ales and the Cornwall Cider Company ciders. All were fantastic, with Lushingtons and Porthleven our two favorites along with a limited edition 7 Hop Ale. The pub was well kept... More

A great place to enjoy a wide range of beers, especially the locally brewed Skinners ales. On the many occasions that I have visited, there has often been great live music, and a lively vibe. Just love the barrel full of free monkey nuts, grab a fist full and discard the shells on the floor! A great city centre pub... More

It was a busy Saturday evening as we went upstairs to the restaurant above the bustling Skinners pub. There, in a spacious area with candlelit tables, we were served delicious home cooked food, cooked by a chef who was trained by the River Cottage team. I had a crispy beef salad with oriental vegetables followed by belly pork with colcannon... More
