There was very little snow this year in the Alps and Avoriaz was one of the few places where one could ski. The main lift is fast and provides seats as opposed to the usual sardine packing kind. Avoriaz village has no cars and the slopes offered some pleasant skiing.

We were staying in Morzine but as there was limited snow we had to ski at Avoriaz. We mainly got lifts from our chalet hosts, and bused on their off day. As a regular skier to other big resorts, it is rather disjointed, but suits all levels of skiers. The most disappointing was the astronimical prices up in the restaurants,... More

We are staying in Morzine but as there was limited snow we had to ski at Avoriaz. The start is not good with a bus ride on a very overcrowded bus. The wind with wind chill factor makes it too cold to enjoy. The link with other towns like Chatel, Linga, Champery make for interesting skiing. I think it is... More

As frequent skiers we find the ski resort a bit disjointed. A lot of lifts with short ski areas, that said we have enjoyed what is open at this time of the year. The French could try to be friendlier, a bit sour and unwelcoming compared to the hospitality and helpfulness you would receive in Canada. A point of notice... More

Large infrastructure, car free resort. Restaurants, cinema, supermarkets, everything you need. A good range of very easy slopes for beginners, a perfect place to learn to ski.

We went here at New Year 2017. We took our children aged 4 and 6. They have both skied before. The snow was not great consequently lots of people from the lower resorts came to Avoriaz. There were a lot of inexperienced people about. The design of the resort means that everyone is funnelled into two narrow blue runs at... More

Staying in Morzine and skiing with a Porte de soleil ski pass (which is a must have). If there was more snow it would be great but guess they can't control the weather but a little more from the snow machines would have been kinder. Still prefer three valleys resort over avoriaz but good place to go (and cheaper)

€15 for a hamburger - it's expensive. However the atmosphere and facilities are good. Lots to do outside of skiing.

Took my 16 year old son here to ski from 26th to 29th December 2016. Where Morzine had NO snow, every run in Avoriaz was open, but hard packed snow. Early in the morning it was great, but we always stopped at 3pm when it was too hard packed with soft lumps everywhere.

We planned a Christmas week ski holiday. Although the resort did a good job at managing the snow they had it was poor snow cover
