I joined two fantastic half day walks and would highly recommend them, as the adventures can be adjusted to suit any group ability levels.
I first went on the 'cheese walk' that took us through Alpine pastures full of cowbells, marmot calls, and friendly sheep. On the mountainside we tasted local cheeses, ate homemade cake, and drank strong French coffee. We visited a small cheese farm and walked around a beautiful lake, all the while learning about the local area, its people, traditions, flora and fauna from our guide, Vivien, who is a fully qualified mountain guide.
I enjoyed it so much I joined another walk the next day, which took us up to views of Mont Blanc where we could look down on paragliders and kestrels in the valleys below.
After these two wonderful adventures I can't wait to go back and try snowshoeing in winter, or an overnight refuge adventure in the more remote parts of the mountains.

Roc d'enfer is none of the easy hikes in the area, but Jason always made sure that we all made our way up safely together. There is a lot more to be aware of when hiking a steep mountain than you think. Jason is such a knowledgeable guide who will tell you so much about nature and the area around it that it was an awesome experience to go hiking with them. I didn't know what to expect, but it turned into an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend their guided hikes! You will learn a lot about what you see and will feel safe throughout your day!

We did 2 fantastic private snowshoe walks with Vivien last week and enjoyed every minute and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend snowshoeing and a day out with Viv to anyone.
Viv picked us up from our chalet in her van and drove us up into the mountains for the first of our walks into the Chapelle L’Abondance valley and to the second of our walks which was up from Chatel over the border into Switzerland via the Col de Morgins.
Viv brings everything you need with her. You just wear your normal walking shoes/snow boots and warm trousers or salopettes and ski jacket etc and Viv then has the snowshoes that strap on easily over your own shoes (she explains everything very clearly and helps you to put them on and helps with whatever you need throughout the walk) and she also brings walking poles for you to use.
One of the best things about the walks is that Viv is a real expert guide and a qualified mountain leader and so she knows exactly where she is going and tailors the walking pace and rest breaks and short stops to admire the views and have little interesting talks about the mountains, the local history and the flora and fauna along the way. You can really relax and enjoy yourself with no need to worry about searching through maps or guidebooks or finding a path that’s safe to walk etc. Viv also brought hot tea and coffee and delicious homemade cake for us and on guided us to a lovely sheltered and sunny spot for a refreshment break.
Both days with Viv were wonderful and left us feeling very privileged to have experienced a beautiful, peaceful and almost secret side of the Portes de Soleil region that felt wonderfully far away from the busy ski runs and with some lovely memories of the mountains that we will cherish.
Thankyou Viv – we hope to return very soon to walk with you again.

Booked a private snow shoeing tour in Morzine with Jason for my girlfriend and myself. It was a great experience overall - Jason knows a lot about the area and was a great guide for snow shoe beginners. Setting up the trip via his wife Vivien was very seamless and easy, as well. Would recommend 5/5!

We wanted to have a day off from skiing and was recommended Snow Shoeing with Vivien and have been so happy with the whole experience from start to finish. Her communication before we had met was excellent and provided clear information about what we would need and what to expect.
We were two family groups with older teenagers and she tailored the walk to our needs and stopping for cake and drinks.
Viv was friendly and easy to talk to and very knowledgable about the local area and animals.
We had a fantastic morning and would definitely do it again.

We decided to try snow shoeing … Vivienne took us to an area we did not know that was beautiful and unspoilt . She is very knowledgeable about the area and it was interesting to learn different facts . The walk was geared to us all and it gave us a taste of other things we can do instead of skiing every day . Vivienne also guides walks in the summer and we would like to book her to do that too in the summertime . We’ll worth the money and Vivienne is a great guide - give it a go!

I was lucky enough to find out about Days Away Adventures through one of their flyers someone gave to me. If you're travelling solo, and want a great way to make friends, then consider hopping on to one of these hikes.
Jason and Viv are the loveliest guides who go out of their way for everyone. The summer hikes have been fabulous, I ended up attending four in total, and would have quite happily of signed up to many more, if I had not run out of vacation. Jason and Viv are prepared for every eventuality and carry Mary Poppins style bags around with them on their walks. Both are extremely knowledgeable about the local area, plans, restaurants, everything, and are so approachable and kind.
The walks differ each week, and are personalised to suit the needs of their customers. The addition of tea and locally made cake at the top of the mountain is also an added bonus. What they don't know about the local fauna and mountains isn't worth knowing! They are super organised, punctual and greet all their customers as if they were old friends.
They have the handy addition of picking you up from Morzine too, and have excellent communication via WhatsApp too.
Such a helpful and kind couple. Viv went out of her way on many occasions to suggest places to visit and things to do on my trip. I would gladly recommend these lovely people.

Katie, thank you so much for such an amazing review. It was brilliant being able to take you out on so many different walks and show you the beautiful Morzine and Vallee d'Aulps area. I'm so pleased you had such a great time and cannot wait to catch up with you in the future.

Wonderfull morning receiving snow shoe guidance from Vivien. As novices, it was so good to recieve expert guidance on how best to fit the shoes, Additionally how to make use of the facilities built into the kit and the best way to ascend and descend in various snow conditions.
Vivien was also a font of knowledge regards a variety of animal tracks and even surprisingly identified wild boar tracks.
Would warmly recommend Viviens walking / snow shoe tours as great fun and informative.

We had a lovely three mornings snowshoeing with Viv. Once in a group and two private. Viv brings everything needed (including tea and delicious cake 😊) and can make the walk as easy or challenging as required. Viv is so knowledgeable about the area and is such a nature lover. She is always keen to point out animal trails, different trees and sights. I would highly recommend a session with Viv whether you want a break from skiing or not a ski fan.

We did the snowshoeing, sunset walk on 14th February, 2023. Four adults. It was absolutely fabulous. Jason is a mine of information, friendly and ensured all the group were looked after as we ascended Mont Caly to enjoy the sunset over Mont Blanc and the surrounding area. After what was a relatively easy walk a welcome vin chaud, banana cake and hot chocolate was provided as we continued to chat about Jason's fascinating experiences across the world. As we descended, the night sky came alive - Venus, Mars, Jupiter and many constellations, as well as, satellites rapidly moving across the night sky. Highly recommend this tour. The other group had young children so it is suitable for all ages with reasonable fitness. Many thanks Jason and Vivien.
