We took the avenue verte from Diepe to Forges les Eaux. The stretch between Dieppe and Arques la Bataille Is on public roads. From Arques to Forges the avenue runs along the track of a disused rail line. The signage in Arques is poor and so the start of the path is difficult to find. We missed it but were... More

This route to Paris, along with the Hirsh route, is fantastic. We did it in 20 mile chunks with a hotel each night. Holiday of a life time.

Really warm welcome to two female cyclists who'd disembarked in Dieppe at 4.30am and were in need of decent coffee and phone charge. Waitress picked up our water bottles and refilled them, unasked and with the warmest smile. We were given what we needed and left to our own devices. Lovely, friendly atmosphere.

AdV provides superbly flat cycling through wonderful bucolic countryside. It starts at Arques la Bataille which is about 14km from Dieppe, although there is a traffic- calmed D Road to the start. There are some useful leaflets in Dieppe hotels with lists of cafes, B&Bs, local attractions & connecting walking and cycling routes. The cycle path is super smooth. At... More

From Dieppe to Forges Les Eau via Neufchatel-en-Bray this old railway line is now a tarmac walk/cycle way. There are breaks in the areas it passes through. A café/bar/tourist info place at Sainte Saire is well worth a visit. Information boards are around on the walk that could be of interest to many of us! Parking is very available at... More

After having cycled over a long weekend from Dieppe to Forges-les-Eaux and back last year, four of us decided to try out the whole French side of the route from Paris back to Dieppe in September 2015. I don't know why, but this seems to go against the grain, as both the Sustrans book, and the Avenue Verte website, are... More

I agree with the other reviewer in that this is awful for punctures. I've recently completed a weekend cycling and returned to Dieppe along the length of this cycle path. The Tarmac is the smoothest I've experienced anywhere probably, and it's very pretty as a ride. However our group of 16 riders had about 14 punctures. I had four myself... More

I couple of days ago I decided to do a bit of the avenue verte from conflans to Saint Germer en Fly (100km). Although the first part (2km) and a small stretch just before Gisor were not that nice, the all rest of it was amazing. You just ride on tiny country lane with almost no car or on cycle... More

The Avenue Verte was directly outside the campsite that my wife & I were staying at. It is a traffic-free cycle way that used to be an old railway line (Dieppe to Paris). The 15km of track either side of Neufchatel-en-Bray is fully tarmac, ultra smooth, and completely flat, making it an absolute pleasure to cycle along (another commenter mentioned... More
