Nice scenic drive from St Helens and the road up to the carpark. We could hear the waterfall as we alighted and then spotted it through the treetops. We were on our lonesome and decided not to undertake the 600m walk to the falls. I ventured in a short distance and it was like walking through a tunnel of trees and ferns with the temperature dropping noticeably.

The walk to the falls was as beautiful as the falls themselves. Such a treat to be soothed by the sound of rushing water while walking the we’ll maintained path. I enjoyed every step of my visit and was so appreciative of the clean and convenient facilities near the entry to the walkway. What a wonderful memory and experience!

Beautiful part of Tasmania! The infrastructure at this site is wonderful, a walkway means you can get up close to the falls,
through beautiful temperate rainforest. The road in is in good condition.

Driving up to the falls was very interesting. Passed by dairies and cropping really beautiful farmland and what you see is exactly what farming is about.
Once at the falls it was quite an easy walk down, a little steep for on the way back up but ok. Young people would run it.

Hidden in the forest right at the end of Pyengana towards the Pub in the Paddock, about 15 mins drive ascending to a patch of area where there're toilets, resting place & car park. A small info hut is the starting point & the narrow path descends to a bridge. About 20m away from the hut has railings to hold on to as the path gets steeper for another 10m. After the bridge, i enjoyed walking under the tall fern trees which provide shades & i like the fragrance of clean fresh air. Inhaling as much as my lungs could contain. It took me from the hut to the waterfall about 7 mins. The Colomba Falls was majestic, rising up so high & the waters so refreshing. Take a slow relaxing walk & enjoy every bit along your journey. May be a challenge for those with weak knees cos some slopes can be difficult. If you were on your journey from St Helens toward Scottsdale or vice versa, then do a brief detour at Pyengana. Worth a visit.

Great walk to base of falls, well made track and viewing platform. This was a Level 2 walk and had a walking incline back to the car park, but not slippery or uneven surface. Falls were spectacular, plenty of falling water. Very picturesque.

Just a short walk from the car park the falls give a show all year round. A nice bush walk on the way in on a well maintained trail.

We visited a couple of days after a wet spell and were rewarded with Tasmania’s highest waterfall running full tilt, a spectacular sight! Also, look out for the extensive varieties of fungi that grow along the track down to the Falls.

Well worth the drive across from St Helens.

After we parked our rental car we headed down to the St Columba Falls Reserve. We were surrounded by tropical trees and plants. It was gorgeous!

When we arrived at the Falls, we were mesmerized. I knew it was one waterfall, but it was running all over this place. It was so beautiful!

I learned that this is the possibly the highest Falls in Tasmania. It is 90 meters high and 42000 liters of water poured every minute, on average.

Those were statistics, but in reality, it is one of the most waterfalls in Tasmania. Wow!

This is a must see!

This waterfall is a good one all year round as it has a constant flow of water, stunning walk gradually takes you downhill across a few foot bridges then on to a nice viewing platform, Great for the different varieties of fungi at the right time of the year, some really lovely massive tree ferns near the fall aswell.
