Sriailam visit in April
Apr 2023
It was very sudden plan, just in two days after deciding we( Mine and My cousin's family) started from hyderabad around 1:30pm and reached sundipenta around 7:30( took 3 breaks with average of 40 min.s each for lunch, tea and bio) and we also took a safari at amrabad .ours was last trip and it was fantastic experience.By the time we are done with our safari it was dark. From there to sundipenta the drive was really excellent. It was very dark and very low trafic so some one who loves long drive will definetly enjoy this strectch in the dark.we stayed at sundipenta as we couldnot get confirmed accomdation at srisailam.Had our dinner at Srisaila's nest as there was no other decent place to have dinner with family.Dinner was good.Next day we went to temple by the time we had break fast and joins the que it was around 10.It was very hot ,we come out from athiseegra darsanam in one hour, and went to Tribal museum.Good place to visit and bought couple o Honey bottles and returened to our stay GM Deluxe hotel(But its a lodge) It was horrible to stay at that location, though the maintanance was impressive and staff also handy at all times but no proper parking and very conjusted place.(We had no choice so stayed there in suit room charged 4k/day very very expensive)And thats not at all a suit room, just two double cots and two bathrooms in a tiny room.we checked out and stopped at Haritha resort-Spice restuarent at eaglapenta for lunch .The taste was next level( we had Roti,Panner butter masala and bendi do pyaz,as the thali was not looking good and nonveg also included). We stratted return journey to akka mahadevi caves but the time was up so we continued our journey to hyderabad with precised memories.

It is not worth the effort. Aptdc guys expect you to stand in line from 4 am and fight for the first 50 tickets to get on a boat. You will be reminded of old tatkal queues of railways. They are rude over the phone and refuse to inform if ticket is available or not. You have to stand in queue even to know that.

We must wear sports shoes to reach this as this place is very rocky. Better to carry some snacks and water to reach here.

Just the cable car is available and no boat rides/ caves. Overall the ride is very short and sweet. Just for the sake of experiencing.

Must visit place at srisailiam.Reached akkamahadevi caves through boat.Boating will take minimum 40-60mins.Tickets will be provided at entrance of pathalaganga.Tickets provided from 9AM-11AM.Inside private boats are also available. They will take around 300 rupees per person.Onde you reach cave, you will see beautiful nature.I can't stop taking selfies.Very dark place inside the cave.Bats (gabbilam) will stay there and continuous noise and bad smell.Inside cave small sivalinga is there for darshan.only 1 member at atime can take darshan and persons with heavy weight (large stomach) can't enter.Altogher it was an wonderful experience.

From srisailm it will take 2 hours on the boat to reach this caves . Caves are very dark so u need to turn on the flash light in mobile.Inside the caves only 5 feet so u need to be extra careful.

Many other things will start from here like dattha ashramam but that costly.

Guys If you are planning to Visit Akkamadevi caves at first book your tickets before 10:00 am. There is only a single trip on one day to the caves if you missed it than you have to wait for next day...

APTDC is Bad. Dont rely much on it as they hype it up. I wonder why they propogate false info as the place cannot be reached after 11 am. As on 24-12-2018 their boats were only from 9 am to 11 am. The counter person is arrogant and not helpful by any means. The tickets issuance may not be first cum first serve basis too.. New rules are formulated at their wishes. Anyways, it is a must see if you consider boating as a good experience in the Krishna River amidst the hilly valley. It is a place to see if you are inspiring by Guru Bhakthi and so on. If you walk down the 650 steps, there are private boats which operate from morning 6 am to evening 4 pm. They are good and friendly than the APTDC. I wish by writing this, APTDC will not ban them and hit their daily meals/earnings. Instead of waiting in long queue at APTDC counter and end up disappointed, I would suggest to walk down the easy steps of about 650 and take a private boat which will carry minimum 10. The destination is also an easy walk unlike earlier times where it was said to be a rocky terrain. Now it is all good and the venue can be seen in 15 to 25 minutes and can return back to the boat. Better to carry 1 water bottle and a pack of biscuit if need be as it is available out there but Rs.10 more than the MRP.
Boat travel is about 2 hours up and down.
And before i conclude, i must say that there is road to reach down to the Pathala Ganga instead of using 650 steps. There are Auto rickshaws too but there are scared of Police as they may be arrested. What a Policing....I hate such policing who cause difficulties to Visitors. APTDC is hand in glove with Police to curb all possible means to ban any private player there who is more efficient and helpful to the public. Auto rickshaw drivers are literally scared to even speak a word about giving details of reaching the destination.

This place is near Srisailam, you can go by boat through the green Krishna river. The natural beauty of the journey is a treasure for you. On that day come early morning on the rope way counter and collect the tickets otherwise you can't go. Remember The only way to go Akkamadevi from srisailam is to confirm your ticket from the rope way counter. Take some dry food and water because it's a journey of five hours (up and down). Take a torch with you because the cave is dark. After reaching the place you will be charmed by the naturally built cave and Shiva Linga .
