Neat ruins to explore in a great area in Luxembourg

This castle is only 11 mins away from the Scheissentümpel cascades & the neat bridge so it's a great one to pair with that for a day trip. Admission is €5 adult but kids are free... read more

Beaufort Castle is a fun day out in the Grand Duchy. We took friends here and had a gorgeous day roaming the grounds. The wild flowers around the castle and the walking trails make it magical. Don't forget to try to fruit liquor they produce on site before you go!

Well it's a ruin now, quite interesting, and nice. But what I don't understand: It's in a valley - I don't know what the idea was, or how they considered it defendable, but it was pretty funny :)

If, like me you have to rent a car to make this trip possible, don't bother. The entire region around Beaufort is just quiet, and not extremely scenic or impressive. So I suggest you use your time to do other stuff if you have a tight itinerary.

They have concerts in this castle (outside). Definitely worth of the visit. But be aware that it is in Beaufort town, which is not in Echternach. There is 15 km between these towns (quite steep climbing if biking).

Don't miss visiting this place if you are around. They charge €5 per adult only cash as entry fee. View from the nature park across the fort is magical. Also the church in Beaufort is beautiful which was built 1734 - opens only on specific days so check online for dates.

Interesting place to visit. 2 parts, the middle ages castle and the Renaissance castle. Unfortunately the Renaissance castle tour is guided and was only available in French and Luxembourgish, neither of which I know well enough to take a tour in. I was told I could schedule in advance a group for an English tour It sounds like it has... More

Dropped by the Castle after reading the reviews, we did both tours the old part of the castle (The Ruins) and the new part which were living areas. Good information considering the guide had limited English as the regular English guide was away. Overall a very nice castle.

Nice to see. Not far from Luxembourg and close to Echternach (which is even more boring than the capital)

We stop here on our way from Luxembourg city to Vianden. Quite interesting place only 5 euro entry Would like to see this place in its prime. Small carpark available. Also walking/hiking tracks in this area.
