Very impressive and well-preserved ruins of a centuries-old castle. We did only the medieval castle as the renaissance one closes at 4pm (the medieval one closes at 6pm). We enjoyed our visit very much, The paper tour guide is complete and allows you to get a good impression on the life back then. Many areas are accessible and all rooms... More

Very impressive and well-preserved ruins of a centuries old castle. We enjoyed our visit very much, The paper tour guide is complete and allows you to get a good impression on how life must have been in those times. Many areas are accessible and all rooms are explained. Unfortunately, the service as the cash register was very slow, but we... More

Went only for the first castle. A beautiful and well conserved castle. Interesting the pictures that explain the utility of different rooms. 5 euro is a decent price for it

My friend, daughter and I visited Beaufort Castle last week on a castle road trip. We drove from Larochette, which was an easy drive and left for Vianden when finished. Because we arrived around 11:30am the car parks were all full and we wound up parking up in the village on the side of the road. Not a big walk... More

Arrived just in time for the guided tour which is the only way to get into the modern part of the castle. It's good to have a few words of German and or French as the guide does not speak English.

Beaufort Castle is a fun day out in the Grand Duchy. We took friends here and had a gorgeous day roaming the grounds. The wild flowers around the castle and the walking trails make it magical. Don't forget to try to fruit liquor they produce on site before you go!

This castle is only 11 mins away from the Scheissentümpel cascades & the neat bridge so it's a great one to pair with that for a day trip. Admission is €5 adult but kids are free up to 26 years. You also get a free shot of the local liquor made with black currants with your entry fee. We spent... More

Well it's a ruin now, quite interesting, and nice. But what I don't understand: It's in a valley - I don't know what the idea was, or how they considered it defendable, but it was pretty funny :)

If, like me you have to rent a car to make this trip possible, don't bother. The entire region around Beaufort is just quiet, and not extremely scenic or impressive. So I suggest you use your time to do other stuff if you have a tight itinerary.

They have concerts in this castle (outside). Definitely worth of the visit. But be aware that it is in Beaufort town, which is not in Echternach. There is 15 km between these towns (quite steep climbing if biking).
