It took us a little while to realise why we found it so relaxing to let our kids play here. Eventually we noticed that, whilst there were a number of kids at the playground, there were so few white-australian families there where the parents "assist" their children on the equipment. Normally, we get eyeballed by parents since we don't hover around our kids like helicopters and follow them around to intervene at the bat of an eyelid. So it was great! The playground was fenced in with a track for kids to scooter around.

Footscray Park is a large open space by the banks of the Maribyrnong River. Flemington Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup, is on the other side of the river. The park fronts onto Ballarat Road. The park has a number of paths suited to pedestrians. There is lots of room to kick a ball. A good playground will be enjoyedd by the younger set. Footscray Park is a fine plce to linger for while.
