Taken by friends who have visited before. It was a fabulous day, The talk is informative and interesting and lots of opportunities to see many species of hummingbirds close up. There is a light lunch and a video show of photographs taken by the host. A fantastic day out and one I will never forget

We visited Dr Theo and his wife Gloria at their most stunning and wonderful hummingbird retreat in Maracas Valley. When planning your visit toTrinidad then this is one of the most important "things to do " while you are here. The visit is by invitation only [ very easy, just go on line and Dr Theo will advise you date... More

Although there are a lot of hummingbirds the area is only about as big as the balcony in Asa Wright. Where there are also just as much birds. As well as different animals and the forests to walk through. It would be ok if the cost wasn't so high. The food served wasn't great nor was it enough for my... More

Such beautiful and colorful birds, to be able to be amongst them and learn so much about them left us speechless. Great hosting and very professional handling.

The setting was beautiful and the birds were plentiful, but there was a powerpoint and a long lecture with very little time left to view or take pictures of the birds.

Yerette My visit this past Sunday to Yerette with my three sisters was nothing short of magical! The setting and the ambience of this Humming Bird sanctuary is a naturist and photographer's dream. Never before have I had the opportunity to photograph this large a variety of Hummingbirds all in one spot. At times there were over fifty or sixty... More

Yerette, Theo and Gloria's home, nestled high in Trinidad's Northern Range, isn't easy to find - there are no signs, only Theo waving at the top of his steep driveway - but it's well worth the journey, and certainly the price of admission ($TT150, which includes tea). You should try to photograph the birds, but if you fail, as we... More

This mountain location has 13 species of hummingbirds on display at a huge number of feeders. You can bring a lunch & eat on the patio while they swarm around the feeders less than 6 feet away. Bring a camera. The slide show is an excellent summary of the secret life of hummers. One note: experienced birders may find that... More

A visit to the Ferguson's small, hillside residence is really two attractions in one. First are the more than 50 hummingbird feeders, with a huge variety of hummers flying and feeding with little regards for humans being so close. Second is Theo Ferguson's knowledge and love for these flying jewels. His talk and slides are extremely educational. We visited a... More
