The Evangelical Church in Sebeș is the town's best known attraction, built in several phases between the 13th and 15th centuries. Its most striking feature is given by its double-style architecture, showing a romanesque tower and nave, and a gothic chancel. It holds the largest winged altar in Transylvania (16th century).

I live in the town and consider the church the best place it’s got. It’s really unique and sets you in a certain vibe. They do sermons in German and concerts in the church. You could walk up the tower to the bell and see the town from upstairs. Bring a shawl as it is quite cold inside even during summer.

I went there years ago, back then you had to go and ask the people living in the front building to open the church for you. It's well preserved inside, you can even climb some stone stairs to see the ceiling up close. It's obvious if you look closely they're actually two churches, one built after the other, since some architectural details don't match up. I didn't manage to visit the tower, I have no idea if that's because it's not safe to climb or they just don't care. Occasionally they organize piano concerts there.

There are better fortified churches in Transylvania but the is one of nicer altars. Closed from 1 to 3. 6 lei entry fee per person. Memorials on the wall to German war dead and a list of local citizens deported to the Soviet Union. Forgotten people.

Nice statuary on the outside of the nave. Gate is unlocked so you can walk around the outside in off hours.

In city center of Sebes you'll find this big church with a nice arhitecture. I didn't see the inside (open 10 AM), but outside is very beautiful!

Sebeș / Mühlbach is one of the key German cities when the "Saxons" came in the country in the 14th century. The church is one of the remaining testimonies. Unusual altar for a protestant church. Opening times are irregular, but worthwile to visit.

We visited in May and really didn't find very much to see. Part of the church appears to be being renovated and apart from the interesting roof (which is visible from much of Sebes), we didn't find it particularly worth visiting, particularly compared to all the other wonderful sites of Romania.
