The Timpoochee Trail is a trail to walk, jog or ride your bike just for pleasure, to enjoy the scenery, to come into contact with nature, to visit the charming communities along 30A and, at the same time, do some exercise!!!! Beautiful!!!More

There is major construction for a few miles along the bike path, virtually closing it down..unless you want to venture out onto 30A highway itself. It is in the rolling parts of the highway just past Santa Rosa..how far that is, I’m not sure..and going...More

Great bike path for the beach bikers who want to rent and leisurely ride. I needed more than that and there were only few places where I could pick up speed. Riding in the road was dangerous due to all the traffic, and this is...More

Seriously, this bike trail is awesome. And for someone who isn't a 'serious' biker, I was able to handle about 15 miles a day (round trip). We went back for a few different trips to cover various parts of the 19 miles total. Each town...More

We really enjoy biking this trail during the shoulder season. My wife and I started a tradition several years ago after the untimely passing of our son of riding the trail on our bikes on Christmas Day. Needless to say, it is very relaxing and...More

This trail is well-suited for leisurely riding a short distance on a beach cruiser. It is not good for avid cyclists. The trail in summer is packed with tourists who, whether walking or cycling, are not paying attention to their surroundings. The vehicle traffic is...More

My family and I loved biking on the 30A trail. It is great that there was a designated path for runners, walkers and bikers so we could stay out of the way of vehicle traffic.

Good afternoon Iris, Yes the Timpoochee trail is paved the entire length, many bicyclists and joggers share the trail. As it is several feet wide, there is generally room to pass a slower cyclist.

Timpoochee Trail Access (3 Replies)
Hello, I've had a bit of problem trying to figure out where I will park when I visit this trail to ride my bike. I've seen several posts on the internet that say you can park anywhere. Then I've seem several that say you can park at the state park, but that's $6. I don't really want to park anywhere like Walmart and I really don't want to pay $6 either. Can someone provide any additional advice about this? I would be coming from Destin and I just want to park in a safe free area where I...More

You could possible park at the school and get away with it - but you can also park in many other spots along the `18 mile trail. There are a few beach access points that have parking right by the trail. We park a lot when we ride the trail by Gulf Place (393 and 30A - there is public parking at the beach access right there. There is also a spot by the beach access near Oyster Lake in Dune Allen that we park at as well.
