About
Glenkinchie proudly serves as one of the Four Corners distilleries of Johnnie Walker. We distil the Edinburgh Malt that is enjoyed around the world on its own and as a vital component of Johnnie Walker whiskies. Discover the generous spirit of our garden home where we create our rare Lowland style whisky, evoking fragrant flowers, dried cut grass, and nutty cereal. To ensure the health and wellbeing of our employees and visitors, we will be implementing a number of precautionary measures. Find out how we are keeping you safe on our website before you visit us. We look forward to welcoming you at Glenkinchie, the Lowland Home of Johnnie Walker.

Whisky Tasting Away From the Distillery
Tony from Glenkinchie came to our golf trip – 32 French and British golfers – at Gullane. He talked us through the tasting of three different whiskies and provided a great, fun evening where even those who were overly keen on Scotland’s finest export enjoyed a great night. Tony himself proved flexible and understanding of what was needed in an evening where time was short. Thank you Tony, and thank you Glenkinchie for help in organising!

    Amazing distillery
A truly perfect experience. All perfectly described, our guide Luca, showed us the beautiful world behind the whisky production. It has been really interesting, and all the senses enjoyed this one of a kind tour. Loving the single malt scotch whisky, I highly recommend this distillery and taking some more time to enjoy the view from the bar.. it's worth it.. Thank you again Luca and all the staff..

    Well worth a visit
Did the Glenkinchie Flavour Journey today. Fantastic setting, very informative tour. Kirsty our guide was amazing, knowledgeable and great sense of humour. We stay 15 mins away and have said we would visit this distillery, years later we have done so. Great mix of people on the tour, but remember it's not just for tourists, enjoy a wee dram. Highly recommend.

    The B. E. S. T. people ever!
For some reason our driver picked us up at 8 for a 10am tour so we got to the distillery so early that it wasn’t even open! Gavin let us in the employee workroom, Willy made us coffee and shortbread then led us to a place where we could relax and warm up! Lucas was the best tour guide and willingly answered my many questions! I would recommend this tour to everyone!

Wonderful Tour and Tasting at Glenkinchie Distillery
We had a wonderful tour and tasting at Glenkinchie Distillery. Our guide Nicol was excellent - funny, informative and engaging. The tour itself was great - lots of history and information about the distillery process. And, of course, the tasting at the end was worth waiting for! We tried 6 different whisky's - lots of variety and high quality! Yes, that motivated us to buy more on the way out. This was a highlight of our trip!

An Entertaining Tour and Some Great Whisky
The Glenkinchie Flavour Journey tour is well worth the £19, especially if you're new to the whisky-making process. Our guide, Tony, was very knowledgeable and personable, and the exhibits along the way were very engaging. The staff also ensured that we had transportation arranged back to our hotel and offered take-away tasting sets in case anyone was driving. The tasting portion happened at the end of the tour. We got to sample their Glenkinchie 12 Year, Glenkinchie Distiller's Edition, and Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve (plus a Scotch and pink lemonade highball). We received a 10% discount to their gift shop following the tour, and there are plenty of quality whiskies, glassware, and other gifts to choose from.

    East Lothian’s hidden gem
This was the best value for money distillery tour we have ever had! Our tour guide was Tony who was very knowledgeable and friendly - he made the effort to learn everyone’s names which was a really nice touch. Tony took us through the history of the distillery first then we had the sensory room where we could smell the key notes to the whiskey. Then a walk through the factory where you saw the process in action before finishing off with the tasting. The whole thing took 2 hours and was overall a very enjoyable experience. Tony is a credit to the company and they should bottle up his charisma and sell it in the gift shop! Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

    5 Star Experience.
Highly recommend the Glenkinchie Flavour Journey , our Tour guide Auntie Helen was amazing and made our experience very enjoyable. Sam made the best cocktails in the bar and our sharing platter was amazing . A big thank you to John for keeping the gift shop open so we could purchase a very nice bottle of Glenkinchie whiskey and some Xmas gifts , we certainly will return soon .

Booked the afternoon warehouse tour for two by phone that morning as the tasting of a circa 20 and 30 year old cask drawn whisky seemed intriguing. Took the city centre minibus pickup that adds £14 pp to the £35 pp ticket and is around a 40 min journey. For the best part of £100, i have to admit it seemed a little steep, particularly as we were kept waiting at the start of our tour due to a party of late arrivals and subsequently rushed during the cask tasting as our minibus driver insisted we depart promptly afterwards. The tour itself was informative and the staff and guides were friendly, professional and well versed in the processes and history. In comparison though, i prefer Tomatin and Orkney distilleries for their more personal approach. Also I disappointedly noted our guide contradicted the website published age of the cask whisky’s on a number of occasions during the tasting. I suspect that the content of the barrel is far younger than the numbers stamped on it and advertised to the public, which is misleading. Also it appeared that I was tasting a bourbon from the American oak versus a whisky from the European oak, possibly a test rather than a tasting?! 😉

We booked the package with the warehouse viewing at a cost of £35.00 each. Staying in Grass Market we booked the transport which was only about as 10 minute walk away and cost 14.00 per person therefore the afternoon cost us £98.00 for the two. Our guide was knowledgeable and we had the opportunity to ask questions. However, when we arrived we were kept waiting for a party of 5 to attend who were on the same tour as me and my partner. Due to this we did not have the opportunity to enjoy our last whiskey at the end of the tour due to the transfer bus waiting for us to take us back on his last trip of the day. It was disappointing after paying nearly £100.00, the finishing touches make all the difference in my opinion. If it wasn't the fact that we had to wait at least 10 minutes for the arrivals and not had to rush through at the end I would have gladly given a 4 star rating. We did get to take the whiskey home in small bottles but would have been nice to just relax and enjoy them there.

Wonderful day trip from Edinburgh!! The distillery is about 30 minutes south of the city center and well worth the drive. Glenkinchie also has a shuttle van for £20 roundtrip (per person) that is extremely convenient; also prevents drinking and driving. Our tour guide Jack was knowledgeable, personal, and made the tour that much better. He was friendly and was able to answer any questions we had. The whisky was delicious and there are plenty variations to taste. Recommend eating beforehand if you’re going on a tour as there is no time after the tour or on the drive up (if you take the van). Overall, it was a great experience with an awesome tour guide!

As we visited in the first week of January we were lucky enough to have a private tour, they did not turn us away but instead embraced our visit and our tour guide Jack was excellent, as was all the staff including the barman Connor. The venue is bright and well designed and the tour full of interesting facts. The tasting was excellent value for money and we were then recommended the Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street which we booked for the afternoon and it was a fantastic immersive experience. The two tours together really did make for the perfect day. I would highly recommend doing both. At the minute you really need a car to get here but I feel sure the venues will recognise the potential and run a regular bus in the summer!

A fantastic distillery tour in a beautiful setting. They have clearly put a lot of effort into making this an enjoyable and memorable experience. Our tour guide, Willie, was excellent, making the tour informative and fun. He really emphasised that it is all about personal taste and to just go with what you like. And it is excellent value too, with the tour lasting over 90 minutes and including tasting of 3 whiskies and a whiskey cocktail.

The people really make Glenkinchie special here. I was late because I got lost and missed my time slot for my tour and Kirsty took it upon herself to take me on a tour of the distillery herself. You can tell how much love she has for the place and it really emulates through how she talks about the distillery. I learned so much from her about the place and every single person we ran into had a smile on their face and were so kind. The cocktails at the end were divine and the two servers at the cafe were so friendly and made amazing cocktails (I cannot stress this enough). The whiskey is really special as well and learning about its history really it amplified my love for Glenkinchie whiskeys. I definitely recommend taking this tour and also take advantage of a shuttle bus as taxis are not easy to come by here as I learned the hard way. Thank you so much Kirsty you are so amazing 😍

What a lovely birthday present that was! Made all the more enjoyable by the warm welcome of Abraham and the whole team at Glenkinchie Distillery.
Very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the work done, the ethos and superb technical explanation on how whiskey is produced.
on top of that the facilities are superb, we were a little early for our tour but enjoyed a nice coffee looking out over those beautiful gardens.
I was so nicely surprised by it all, it was most certainly the best tour I had so far, you got to talk to staff members in the process of distilling, they were very happy to answer questions and it felt like a proper visit. Especially when Abraham opened the store room (with its many padlocks) and switch on the lights... hundreds of barrels gently maturing.
I definitely recommend this to anyone interested in learning about whiskey and the tasting session was also excellent.

Excellent tour. Brian Turner our guide was super, very friendly and knowledgeable. Made the tour interesting and fun. Tasting was well done … soft drinks for our kids, and drivers able to take their whiskys home to taste later.
Stunning bar area where we relaxed after the tour and enjoyed a lovely lunch.
The new visitor centre and gardens are high spec and beautifully finished.
Well worth the visit.
A great way to spend Father’s Day. Bonus was getting 10% tour discount on the whiskys we bought in the shop after the tour!

The Flavour and Cask experience at Glenkinchie Distillery was absolutely top notch.
Tour guide Keith looked after our group around the distillery, and he delivered an incredible amount of information about the distillery, its history and production with obvious passion and personal love for the distillery.

The food after was exceptional, and a great range of drinks to enjoy in a beautiful relaxed lounge style café bar.

I couldn't recommend it more, especially with the light dusting of snow we were lucky to get.
