This is worth adding on to the museum visit, the walk up to the temple, while a little steep only takes ten minutes and highlights the size of the temple, as from a distance while it is presented as a gem in the crown of Possagno the scale of the temple can be appreciated during the walk.

Entry is free but check the hours if is open. The is a £1,50 charge to access the viewing platform on top of the dome.

Inside is a surprise with the scale of the paintings and Canova's sculpture. Enjoy - we certainly did.

2 minutes up the hill from the museum is this monument designed by Canova and hosting his tomb.
Combining Greek, Roman, and Christian themes it exemplifies Canova's Neo-classicism.
Definitely worth a visit.

Situated on a hillside in Possagno the Tempio is both a monument to Antonio Canova's exceptional talent as well as his last resting place. The view of the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Be sure to combine this with a visit to the even more spectacular Gipsoteca di Canova at the foot of the hill.

one of the major jewels of neoclassicism, this one with a special mission - it holds also a tomb of the artist (Canova) born just below this hill

worth the visit! It is a church, no entrance fee, watch the opening hours in the internet. You can park right in front of the church and combine it with a visit of the museum of Canovas art work - the museum is on the bottom of the huge street leading to the temple.

This vast classical-style mausoleum has at its heart the tomb of Antonio Canova. Built on a hill above Possagno, it commands stunning views of the countryside, especially from the top of the long flight of steps. The interior is beautifully proportioned and serene. The sculptor designed and paid for the building himself.
