I am primarily a rescue with some horses donated by their owners due to lack of space or time. I have a simple, yet safe facility for all concerned. We're surrounded by beautiful scenery always with a cool tropical breeze. We welcome riders from 6 years old on up and match riders to the appropriate mount providing instruction as needed. Soon come, daily fun with the donkeys!

Where to start. We arrived about 15 minutes late due to a slow and stomach churning island bus ride. I gave the owner Dana a heads up... and she was very accommodating. Fortunately there was only one other group of 4 and they didn't mind either. I rode a horse once or twice when I was young. My wife never... More

Trail ride with Dana on 3/21/17. We had an hour of great riding up the mountain and to a beautiful overlook of Coral Bay and surrounding cays and points. Dana was a great guide--she pointed out and explained the foliage we passed and all the geographical points of interest. The horses were great. It is amazing what Dana and her... More

Thanks Julie and company for sharing this experience with us. The corral is ever evolving with new animals coming in and calling it home. We have a foal due within a month who would have otherwise been born in the bush of St. Thomas. When we bought her in December her former owner said she may have gotten pregnant in... More

I will start by saying that I am an experienced rider, a former trail guide and an animal care professional. I had been looking forward to this ride for months ever since I planned my trip to St. John. The one good thing I will say is that the horses generally appeared to be pretty well cared for and were... More

Weren't you on the same ride with the mother daughter who said they'd had a great ride?Trust me when I say my riders are important to me, that's why I have a helper and am currently seeking a second person so that maybe I can get a day off once in awhile. T'Sean was on task getting everyone out the... More

My husband and I had never ridden with Dana, but when our recent houseguests, who own horses in Ohio, took us up on our offer to go on the trail ride, there was not turning back! They know a lot more about horses than we do, and my friend, Sonja, said the horses looked very well-fed, groomed, and overall well... More

Hi Linda, I remember the squealing 😄. That's not a problem or taking pictures from on their backs because they are pretty much bomb proof. I have the chickens and donkeys to thank for that with all the activity they create at the corral. We do have a few too many birds, though, right now, with a new batch of... More

We were two adults and two nine-year olds who did a morning one-hour ride. We enjoyed the horses and the experience. It is more challenging to ride on the hills of St. John than on flat land in the western US, but we and our kids were fine. The horses were friendly, mellow, and knew the path. We also reserved... I really appreciated help where it was needed, even cleaning up after the chickens dem. Anyone who steps in to assist the animals, (myself included), must be willing to do what it takes. Whether that means filling in holes exuberant donkeys have dug, or refixing the gate after a horse finished using it for a butt rub. But, no matter... More

We had a very nice ride on a national park trail that we had thought about hiking. The horses handled the ride perfectly. Halfway up the trail we overlooked Hurricane Bay. It was beautiful! The owner clearly works very hard to care for her animals and to provide St. John visitors an opportunity to ride trails. It was a great... More

Thanks for your review. As noted, we are not a fancy operation with feed and rent being so expensive we can only afford the basics. Just to clarify, lest any rangers are reading this, we're not riding on National Park trails. Only the public road portion of the Johnny Horn Trail. Same terrain as the National Park with equal beautiful... More

We got there about 5 min before our ride started and were greeted by a nice man who told us the guide / owner wasnt here yet and she would be there soon. 30 min later after standing in the hot sun she finally arrived. We loaded into our horses and then waited an additional 20 min for her to... More

First of all I was delayed after running an errand to Cruz Bay, that's what happens when most business has to be conducted on the other side of the island. I was aware of your arrival and had T'Sean, my guy, saddling everyone while shade was available over my table and chairs while waiting. In my opinion the ride went... More

I feel that the owner really loves the horses, donkeys, and others in her care. Dana is very kind to her animals and her clients. Nice location on east end on the bus line if needed!

Thanks for taking time to review us. We know how valuable your time is while on vacation and how eager you are in searching for something unique to do here. We're looking for more ways to involve every animal at the corral, especially the donkeys who most visitors love! More

You need to call ahead to reserve your place on a tour ride, but be forewarned, there may still be issues. We called for reservations, & booked an 1.5 hr riding tour (sale price of $65 each), at 4pm... * Try not to arrive early, as this seems to really upsets, Dana, the proprietor. Thanks for your enthusiasm for my efforts to create a special time with the animals on St. John.
