The aim is to breed Cuban crocodiles for release but presumably to get funds they keep smaller ones in pens along with other reptiles. Pay 1 CUC to feed the larger crocs! Good grounds for bird watching.

A bit tourist trappy but quite a fun experience nonetheless. We rode rented bikes up from Playa Larga to get here - an easy ride if a little warm! Gets really busy with busloads of tourists by mid day so get there early if you...More

very small place with very sad dirty animals. It is cheap, the time spend on it is what I regret about.

It’s exactly what it is... crocodile farm, lots of them and you can see them up close and personal. You can also feed them over the fence and take a picture with mini crocodiles.

Crocodile farm keeping crocodiles of all possible ages. Oldest ones are approximately 60 years old. You can feed them for small payment. It's definitely worth it to visit it.

I hope that the Cuban government is truely invested in bettering wetland ecology, and scientists are using this resource to study. Otherwise this place is a horrible capitalization of animal cruelty. This farm have all the adult crocodiles living in one small pool. They have...More

I visited the place in 2004, and since then nothing much changed. discuss the entrance price, and you will get in for less. Beside the cuban crocodille, you will see some fish, turtles and rats.

Staying in Varadero - best place to see wildlife? (0 Replies)
Hello all! I am making my first visit to Cuba next month, finishing my trip with five days in Varadero, and I'd be grateful for any advice on the best places to see wildlife (e.g. day trips from Varadero). I'd especially love to see Manatees if possible - even at if it's just at a distance. I am completely against animals being mistreated and exploited (I have done some research and know to avoid the horrible dolphinariums). From what I've read I definitely want to see the Zapata...More
