It is a very small town, but it is off the main tourist areas. The local people were very friendly. It is not far from the Corcodile farms.

We only stayed 1 night and that was enough. Quiet town but nothing to do except walk along the beach and watch the beautiful sunset. Locals are friendly.

I've been there many times and stayed at a number of the private homes, there is lots to see and do in the area. Rent a bike or car or just walk the little town. A true gem, off the grid

Playa Larga is a small town were You easily can reach many of the intresting places in the national park of Zapata. You can also go to Playa Giron and visit the museum about the invasion.

Playa Larga or rather Caletan is a bit ramshackle and unfinished . Don’t expect perfect white beaches etc. BUT you do get a pretty beach with a few nice bars and restaurants and a great traveller atmosphere. The water is affected by the river so...More

Playa Larga is the name of the town but also an amazing beach for the locals and for tourists. Very different from the Caleton beach (also in Playa Larga). You need to know there are 2 large beaches in Playa Larga. This one is the...More

Playa Larga itself doesn't really have much to offer, but it's definitely a good stop in between other places like Cienfuegos and Viňales or Havana. Also it is a good starting point for going to National Park Ciénaga de Zapata Right in the Playa Larga...More

Water is brown due to soil but with 20 minute drive you can be in coral beach. Best casa's are not on internet, and only available on walk-in basis. If you reserve through airbnb or any other middle-man sites you will be paying double.

Small town but nice place to stay after Havana. Good location to do the Las Salinas Lake Tour to see the Flamingos.

I would ask one of the locals when you get into town. In Cuba, everyone knows someone that knows someone that'll know the answer or help you do what you want to do!

We took the Viazul bus from the station in Vedado to Playa Larga on Mar. 14, departing 10:45 a.m. Our casa particular sent a pedi-cab that met us on the highway and took us to the beach, about 10 minutes. We continued a few... More
