Overall the day trip up the mountain was excellent, just too many people in one place at one time. Probably would have been a little quieter, if we had arrived earlier in the day.
We arrived at just after 11, purchasing two tickets at RM85 each for SkyCab which is two cable car rides to the top. A little disappointing that there was a charge for the restroom after the first trip. Whereas, at the top there was no charge. When we arrived at the top we trekked down to the bridge passing a few monkeys on the way. On the way back up, we used the SkyGlide for RM10 per person (which was a 10 person carriage of a funicular railway).
Views from the bridge were spectacular, with parts of the walkway made see through. So you can stand taking pictures straight down.
A great few hours of entertainment.

I can recommend to make a trip to the sky bridge as it means an additional experience to the beach life. It is better to take off in the morning when there is a chance to avoid crowds of tourists. Clearer sky indicates you may have great views to the horizon around Langkawi.

Love the cooling weather and the great view it offers. Just my advice to first time travellers, just get the tickets for the skycab, and go the top first. There are additional tickets that you can get in the middle, but go to the top first, and then decide if you want to experience the view in the middle. For me, you already have a great view on the peak, and that's more than good enough.

We went with the tour company called "Junglewalla", recommended by the retreat and it was the most amazing trip! I learnt quite a lot of new things about mangroves and its ecology. The tour guide, En.Shazwan, was very knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of interesting flora, fauna and animals to us along our journey . I would definitely recommend this 2 1/2 tour.

We were having team building there. Visited all the amusement parks and took the cable car up to the top. The journey from down to the top was really amazing experience. The view was absolutely stunning. Can't describe how beautiful the scenery from the top. It is best if you go up to the top and experience yourself. Due to limited time available I didn't go to the sky bridge. There is additional ticket you need to buy in order to to enter to the sky bridge. The view from the cable car station is already at its best so no doubt the view will be more beautiful at the sky bridge. It is definitely a must visit place in Langkawi.

An amazing feat of engineering. The cable car took us up to the top of the mountain - breathtaking views. We took the sky glide to the sky bridge. All very smooth, everything operated by efficient Malaysians. Not crowded when we were there.

What a beautiful place. As most, being ruined by tourism. We visited the bat cave and there was no ranger controlling the rude chinese visitors who were shouting in the cave that clearly stated no talking. Everyone else whispering and being so quiet. Our guide had to tell them to leave! The bats wont be there in a few years as it isnt being monitored. If there are strict rules to protect the wildlife there should be a ranger to monitor it or no tourists allowed in. We also witnessed a monkey being tourmented by a tourist who actually gave it a plastic bag. Our guide had to grab this from the monkey. Not only would this have ended up as rubbish along with the rest that was about the mangroves, but put the monkey in danger too.
I am appalled that unesco support this area where there is little respect for nature by having no one monitoring the rules. Where are the rangers???
Also we visited the floating restaurant. They hold captive extremely large stingrays in a very small container for people to look at. Along with lots of other fish that clearly are for human pleasure. Please release these creatures back to their natural habitat. It was awful seeing how little space they have to survive. I was shocked this is being allowed.
Also we learnt about the eagle feeding. Why are you allowing tour groups to feed the birds? They are not feeding off their natural habitat because they await the tour groups that feed them CHICKEN SKIN. This is not a natural food for eagles and will eventually kill them off.
We also learnt that mangroves have been destroyed to make way for a new building selling rocks and showing tourists information. A huge modern building in what was once beautiful mangroves full of wildlife.
I will be contacting the tourist board, and Unesco. Im appalled & only saw part of the geopark.

The last time I came to Langkawi Geopark some 10 years ago with my family of 3 school going children. They were so captivated by the wonderful river estuary untouched by modern development. We applauded the country for preserving this wonderful nature.
On Jan 1 this year, the first day of this year,10 years later; I recommended and brought semi-retired aged friends to come. This place is still as enchanting; thriving with healthy mangrove plants and a healthy growing animal population; the water way has become much cleaner with very little plastic pollution. The eagles and mangrove monkeys and cave bats are looking healthy; a clear sign that the country did right by them with respect.
But what I was most impressed about was how systematic the eco-tourist local boatman who brings a steady stream of tourist by motor boats to visit the park; they steer the boat keeping their lanes; slowed down where canoeists were paddling; they have worked out on how to educate tourist of the beautiful place, showing us how the animals are respected and how they live along the estuary; even with their very limited English vocabulary, they do their best.
I thoroughly enjoyed this place and will continue to support by recommending more friends to come.
