Cook on the Lakes is an Italian Cooking School on the Lake Maggiore, in the north of Italy.

ALL COURSES HAVE HANDS-ON PHILOSOPHY!

Every course has its own goals. We'll start to prepare the food all together as a group. We will know the recipes and their history, learn the basic skills, cook them. Usually all the lessons will start in the morning around 9 PM; we will work the whole morning until the food is ready and then we have lunch together; if your partners are around, they can join us for a small fee. When the course is finished, we will take pictures with your Italian cooking diploma and I'll give you a special souvenir to take home.

Enjoy the location, totally surrounded by the nature and at the edge of the woods.

On warm seasons the vegetables and other natural products will be available from my garden, from Germano's, my neighbour, a wise and expert gardener, and from the nearby local market place.

If the weather is fine, we'll enjoy the food we cook outside in the garden and in the sun!

See you soon!!! Francesca

We had the pleasure of having a wonderful cooking class with Francesca and her husband. From the minute we walked through the door, we felt at home and welcomed. As foodies, it was easy to recognize immediately that she was not only a well trained chef but also full of vim and vigor! So much personality! We learned so many... More

We started our day at a local cheese cave, Luigi Guffanti, learning about cheese making and curing which was truly unique. We had a tasting of the cheeses from the cave at the end of the tour and then proceeded to Francesca's home for our cooking lesson. Her home is in the mountains in a quiet setting. We made pumpkin... The whole day was magical! I am still smiling from my experience. Passion filled day of Italian food and Italian ingredients from a super host. A highlight of my Italian food adventure. Stunning food, location and hospitality. Super host! Francesca has an exceptional gift of communication. A hidden Gem nestled amongst Lake Maggiore. Bravo! Bravo!

My wife, my daughter and I took an evening cooking lesson with Francesca recently. The summary: A super-fun evening! We spent a delightful afternoon and evening preparing and cooking a classic italian meal. Two types of gnocchi, foccacia bread, sauces to match each type of gnocchi and tiramisu were on our menu that evening. Francesca is a great instructor and... More

I booked an Italian cooking course with Francesca's "Cook on the Lakes" company for our family including our two daughters 12 and 9 years old. The whole day surpassed our expectations! Francesca organised a diverse day - market and cheese cave visits, along with cooking and then eating three Italian dishes in her home. It was a day full of... More

I booked for a group of 8 for the day, for a friends and family group following a wedding in Lake Orta, Northern Italy ( about 25 mins easy drive from Orta) Francesca was lovely and friendly, genuinely most hospitable. We were a very mixed group of ages, interests and skill levels, and we all had such a great day,... More

A friend and I did his cooking class while we were in Stresa and while it required a taxi to get there it was well worth it. Francesca is a wonderful chef as well as a warm and inviting hostess. We were able to help design the menu and the Ravioli da Plin as well as the Panna Cotta have... More

I was visiting the Lake Maggiore region with my husband on business before heading to Venice and a Greek isle cruise. So, while he was at work, I decided to book cooking classes. Although I am an outgoing person, I was a little concerned with spending two days one on one with an Italian chef in her home. Let me... More

Francesca has created this little gem up in the hills with a very homely and welcoming feel. A class of 7 of us went on a day out to make some Italian classics. Lots of new skills to practice and I've just got round to making my first fresh tagliatelle back home! A lovely day out and to enjoy your... More
