Unfortunately when we visited it was during the CMCO period hence we did not spend much time there. However, during our short time on the beach it was still really peaceful and pleasant just walking along the beach to get a breathe of fresh air.

Undoubtedly this beach is very popular amongst tourists. That also means hundreds of people come to this exact spot mostly on weekends, but truth to be told, many left RUBBISH behind.
FYI, I am a local. I often come here with my brother fishing. I will collect the rubbish and often get many sacks gathered. Effort by just a man, and some old folks will not be enough if others coming here being irresponsible.
*I also dont know what they’re thinking charging 50 cents for horrible toilet.
Let the photos I took a few minutes ago tell the rest of the story.

What I expected from a beach is even though it didn't have white sand and blue sea, but it at least must clean. But what I saw is a dirty beach, full of rubbish. It quite disappointed.

A nice place to hang out with friends as this beach is windy with many shadow sittings. There is a big tree and it is very popular for locals to make a wish

NIce beach at there. I enjoy myself at here by flying a kite at here. Here also got shops that sell seafood that can bring back home. The most important is i can make the wish by writing the wish in the small red cloth and throw it at the lucky three. Hope my wish will come true~~

First of all, Redang Beach is definitely a MUST VISIT site in fishing village. However, the beach area is small, the sand is coarse and the beach is muddy. The tree houses were not well-maintained, and most of the souvenir shops and eateries were not in operation on weekdays. The small temple and the wishing tree are just nearby, but it just take us less than 5 minutes to take photo there.
The good side- the beach was clean, safe, and it is definitely a good place for sun set viewing. It was a good experience for us to sit at the river mouth while counting the returning fishing boats.

The beach is not a beach you could expect from a beach. It just smelly, clean, quite beach. Near the beach there is the big tree and by the sid of it got swingy wooden seat. Go get the seat, buy ice cream cone, and swing till you get bored or go to the tree house and just enjoy the view. Tourist - please throw your trash away and make the area clean

Its a nice beach for sunset , photo taking, chilling out at the tree houses , having fresh coconut juice and nice seafood plus some local snacks. Sadly alot of people visit this beach but the friendly stray dogs are still in skin and bones..they r very thin cause no one actually prepare some food for them when they take a trip there...no one knows the strays need food at all. If you would like to do a good deed , or if u have compassion for animals..do prepare dog biscuits/ kibble to bring there ....the strays will definately appreciate your loving gesture. There are about 30 dogs roaming around in the long stretch of beach...they dont fight or give trouble at all when u feed... i fed them twice but couldnt keep going back as i stay in kl. Hopefully anyone that sees my review can feed when you are there. 1 persons effort will never be as great as the combined strength of the public. When u see them full and happy... i gurentee you that your heart will be filled with contentment ...

Don't have too much of expectations, and you will like this place!
Go there for the sunset, the lovely sea breeze and the unique kites being flown by people!
Do not expect - to get into the sea (it is not suitable for swimming at all), a clean beach (it is dirty with stray dogs even doing their business), nice smell (it stinks of fish because of the fishing village nearby).
Yet we had a great and chilled out evening at the beach! We were four of us - 2 pairs of husband-wife. We were in Sekinchan for a 1 night holiday. We drove down from KL. This is what we did:
Before going to the beach we picked up cans of beer. We reached the beach around 6.15 pm having checked on the local sunset time which was around 7.25 pm. After parking at the beach, we first went to the Chinese Wishing Tree. Though we didn't make any wish, but we clicked picture in front of it! It has a podium in front of the tree for clicking pictures. The tree is full of red strings hanging which makes it look very nice. After that we made our way to the beach which was full of people, since we went on a Saturday. The first things that struck us, is the strong sea breeze and the lovely kites being flown by people. The kites here are unique, maybe shaped like a butterfly or a bird. Very colorful. The good thing about the beach is that there are enough seating which are made of cement benches as well as benches made on used tires! We roamed around a bit clicking photographs. We also went to the end of a short pier where you could click pictures with the sea behind you. Then we came and found a place to sit. We slowly drank beer and watched the lovely sunset in front of our eyes. We enjoyed our moment at the beach. Notwithstanding the stinking fish smell. But, if you can tolerate it, then it is fine. After a while you kind of get used to it. There is also a sign board which says "Sekinchan" behind which you can click pictures for memories.
While sitting we noticed something unique. We saw all the shipping boats returning to the dock after a day's hard work of fishing. They could be seen making their way back in a queue one after the other. They would be moving next to the series of lamp posts made to guide the ships back in the night. It is like a road on the sea for the fishing boats!
I noticed on another side of the beach lots of kite shops. Though we did not go there. Also, we did not have the need to use the public toilet so we don't really know if there is one and in what condition it is. The parking area is big and well organized. Overall, the public beach area looked well organized for people to come and enjoy the view of the sea and feel the lovely sea breeze. We also wanted to have dinner somewhere next to the beach, but we found out from a local person that there are not very good restaurants at the beach. To find the beach you can type Pantai Redang on Google Maps or Waze. Sekinchan is a small place and everything is 5-10 minutes away from each other. The public beach area has bins so you can use those for throwing garbage instead of littering.
All in all, a very enjoyable evening for us four!

Decided to visit Pantai Redang as it’s one of the recommended attraction in Sekinchan. However it a bit of a disappointment.
The beach itself wasn’t up-kept as there was a few small rubbish thrown here and there. Even some of the small huts for people to take picture wasn’t up-kept well as some was a bit worn down. There was even a funky smell at the beach that didn’t come from the sea water at all.
Overall, the beach needs to have some makeover to attract tourist to this tourist attraction.
