A good place to stop by during the summer if you’re driving through Kurzeme. For less than a euro each you can walk up this hill, try some grapes and catch a glimpse of the nice little town of Sabile and the area around. One your way out of town you can pass by the local shop and buy some of their Apple Cider. The lady at the info center told us because the vineyard is so small and most grapes are eaten by visitors to the vineyard the little that is left that turns into wine is offered for free during the town’s festivities.

Mountain were local people grow their vines. Picturesque view from the top. Quite Italian atmosphere in sunny day. Entrance costs 0,70 for adults.

It is possible to walk up the mountain-side between rows of plants, with different grape strains labelled. There is a gazebo on the top. Nice way to lose weight with views of very attractive Sabile from the top.

My fiancée and I stopped by the Sabile Wine Mountain when driving around the Latvian countryside.
This attraction is really more just a small hillside, rather than a "wine mountain" as it is named on tripadvisor.
Entrance is 1.5 EUR per person and you are allowed to pick a few grapes if you want to give them a taste.
The wine they produce here is only available for sampling / purchase once a year, when they apparently have a festival of sorts in the autumn in Sabile.

The Nordligadte Winery of the World is located on the Abava River valley in the town of Sabile in Latvian CURLAND. Both red and white wines can be purchased in the city!
