The best guided museum
Oct 2018 • Friends
I went to visit "the museum of mines two stars",about six months ago, I was together with my classmates and it was fun. Arriving at the museum gave us a guided tour, we go to the mine and could see how gold was mined and given a brief explanation of your great and interesting history. It was a very nice visit so I would very much like to go again. I recommend you visit it and live the same experience that I lived.

A glimpse of Mexican Histrory
Dec 2016
Once the richest mine in the world, this site was abandoned during the second half of the 20th Century, then rescued by a local artist and turned into a delightful museum, full of great historical pieces. They receive no government nor private help, they stand on their own, so please do not forget to cooperate with this noble cause.

Fascinating tour
Feb 2016 • Friends
Our guide had ancestors who worked in the mine, and she was able to read to us entries from their pay records. There was much of interest on the tour -- we got to actually wear hard hats, and walk down a mineshaft, for example -- but the pay room was the most poignant part for me.
There are wonderful murals that you can view at the entrance to the mine; as well as ceramics and other arts, and more murals to study near the end of the tour.
In the parking area, there's also a freestanding building with a plaque that reads "Collecion de Cristos". I only had five minutes to duck in here before rejoining my tour group, but the folk art us fantastic, and well worth a short visit.

Mineral museum & tunnel
Jan 2014 • Friends
You have to come and see the tunnel to get to know what it means to be in a mining town. Don´t forget to visit the ceramic shop on the way to the museum. A stop en route to see the marvel of lime stone carvings is worth.
