The castle still stands by a large open public square in the heart of the town. The courtyard was open to enter when we were there and illuminated at night. There’s a certain air of mystery as well as history: perhaps it’s the shadows cast by the lighting and the deep recesses in the stone walls.

We came to see the town today, and for some shopping .
Parked up near the main piazza next to the castle - the main gates were open so we went in , the doors to all the rooms inside were locked .
After around 2 minutes a guy approached us from a little corner of the grounds and tried to sell us a tourist leaflet about castles in the area.We declined his offer and made to go up the outside steps to the roof - he, with no English and me with no Italian, appeared to tell me to phone for a guide - I again declined and made to leave , at which point he pointed up and said OK !
Nice views but not the greatest castle around - OK for 5 minutes and no charge though !

We arrived at the castle about 9.30 and not unexpectedly, it was not open. We were about to leave when a very old lady told us just to push it open as it was in reality never closed :) which we promptly did and entered.
It is a very well preserved castle with a wonderful view and some good information in English.
We weren't able to view inside as even when the proper tourist lady arrived we were advised only groups and those with reservations can view. A pity as it looked very good.

It deserves to be better valued. The less visible areas are very dirty and the windows of the salons are draped with imposing cobwebs. No Explanatory Dashboard and no Guide for any visitors. A beautiful structure of which we did not get to know anything.

It is a beautiful castle of which only the exterior can be visited unless you book a visit.....Bla, bla, bla....The usual Italian things, as if this little village offers so many other beauties ! How sad 😭

Beautiful castle, imposing, well maintained, set in a village that provides a beautiful setting. Worth a Sunday walk.

Very beautiful, imposing castle, with a beautiful horizon. It's a shame that only 3 of the dozens of rooms can be visited. A real shame for such an interesting manor house full of "past"
