Paolo gave us a private tour through his wonderful museum. He spoke slowly and enthusiastically so we could understand him with our basic Italian. His collection is extensive and focuses on Italian cinema from ww2 to the 70s. A museum like no other!

This is a real treat for anyone with even a passing interest in films, film poster art and Italian popular culture.
Two hours in the company of Sig Marinozzi just flew by, each room in his family's beautiful palazzo housing more stunning original art work and the completed film posters they have been used on. Work is roughly grouped by actor (Giancarlo Giannini, Claudia Cardinale, both visitors to the museum etc) or by artist (Ballester having a dedicated room), and there is an eclectic mix of film memorabilia, such as the dinghy from Wertmuller's Swept Away and Carlo Verdone's motorbike, to supplement the art work.
Inevitably some knowledge of Italian cinema, history and language will help non native visitors but any background research will be richly rewarded.
This unique private collection is available by appointment only and you pay what you feel is appropriate. Clearly this is almost impossible to judge but I would strongly recommend buying the excellent catalogue, only available here, as a starting point.
One of the best small museums I have ever visited intelligently arranged in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended!

I've been so lucky to find this sensational museum, especially for the movie lovers!
You can find here the history of Italian cinema and superlative actors!
Paolo is an excellent host, he will conquer you with his enthusiasm and engaging story telling! You will notice his passion behind every single poster/sketch!
You can clearly see the original sketch and the final poster and this will be an immersive experience, I can guarantee it!
Also, you will find some rare and exclusive props from the movie sets!

Fabulous & unique collection of cinema artwork and original posters owned by Paolo Marinozzi at Museo Cinema a Penenello in Montecosaro MC Italy. We loved every moment of this visit conducted with passion by the owner who has amassed his collection since a little boy. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world.

We had been meaning to visit this enchanting museum for sometime but running a B and B it is hard to get away. Wow, what a place though! Not only is Paolo's home a delight to visit but the added interest of his collection of amazing art work and posters, illustrating the world of Italian films, was both awe inspiring and extremely interesting. From a young boy Paolo has preserved a collection of artwork in all forms all related to films, I was amazed that the cigarette cards looked as if they were new, no sticky finger marks etc , which meant that from the word go he must have been dedicated to his collection. Complementi and grazie! We will send our guests and return again ourselves.

A museum dediacted to movie poster drafts? Tucked away in the Marche? Who'd have thought it, and who'd have thought it could this good? Truly a thing of wonder. Magnificent...

If you’re an art and cinema buff, then this stop should be on your itinerary.
The Museo Cinema a Pennello, located in the little town of Montecosaro, which is in the beautiful region of Marche in Italy, houses original art work of completed film posters that have been used to advertise films in Italy.
The posters were hand painted by Italian artists before being printed and used for the advertising of films (Hollywood and Italian mostly) throughout Italy before the advent of digitization and photo shopping.
Paolo Marinozzi is the curator and owner of this wonderful little museum which is housed in his family’s old palazzo. Paolo provided a very interesting tour of the 2 floor museum where in addition to the posters, quite a few film props were also included..
Thanks again to Paolo for a wonderful insight to the history of cinema poster painters.
