Beautiful view but the lighthouse is closed

The Kê Gà island is a canoe ride (50k per pax round trip) away which takes about 10 minutes. It's an interesting experience but don't wear shoes & long pants because they will surely get wet! The island is full of scenic, photo worthy views and it's small enough that you can explore the whole place in an hour. The rocks make nice little ponds that seem ideal for swimming.
When we tried to go up to the lighthouse we were asked for 5k each, which was a surprise since the other reviews didn't mention this but it's cheap so no big deal. However, when we reached the entrance we realized it was locked. A bit disappointing since we wanted to climb to the top. I asked the guard and he said the lighthouse is off limit to tourists. So that's a bit of a bummer but overall I'd still recommend going here for the views, the nice calm ocean and the swimming spot.

Enjoy the little boat ride to the Lighthouse island, wander around the trees and wonderful big rocks, climb up the little hill to the top of the island and step up the Lighthouse and you will be awarded with a stunning 360 panorama view of the Ke Ga Beach

Old Lighthouse-1899 on island-Ke Ga (Chicken Beach)
Mar 2018 • Friends
I visited with friends. Got a water taxi from Ke Ga village. Getting on and off water taxi not for the elderly or disabled. Good views from the top of the island. Too much rubbish that detracts from the sights. There had been a burn off recently so a bit parched. Rocky outcrops all around.

Getting there is the fun part
Dec 2017 • Couples
We decided to go to the Kê Gà lighthouse to see what it is all about; we took a scooter trip along the coast from the place we were staying in. Make sure you pick a day with calm seas as you will have to cross a small stretch of water to get to the island. The fun part is actually getting there by small round vietnamese boats (they seem very unstable but the fishermen are highly skilled). You will find locals along the shore willing to take you on the island; you can negotiate the round trip fee. Some might drop you off and come back later and some will wait for you. Once you get on the island there is a short hike up to the lighthouse where you can take photos of the surroundings (spent about 20-30 minutes on the island and there was no one else other than us and some workers on the island). There wasn't anything else on the island apart from a structure they were building/restoring; this might be a restaurant when they finish (bring water and snacks if you plan to stay longer). It's worth the experience but don't expect much else. Cheers!

Beautiful spot but full of garbage on the beach
Feb 2018 • Solo
Very sad that this beach with beautiful rock formations, the lighthouse, and the fishing port is full of garbage. It’s disgusting.

Just saw it from the hotel Princess d’Aman, from the beautiful beach there and the fishermen village closer to the lighthouse where boat are generally mooring at night. Great and unusual spot.

Once I search on Google maps for nice rocky beach in the south of Vietnam, I found this beach, Ke Ga.
Lighthouse, rocky beach, local fisherman market, round boat its a heaven for landscape and street photography.

Unfortunately the beach in some area were dirty, so much rubbish, please take this beach for our generation.

We followed Google Maps to Mũi Kê Gà as we'd heard you could get boat trips around here to the lighthouse. We were ushered down a rocky dirt path off the main road, which led to a modest café under some trees. Here they sorted us out with a boat trip for 100,000vnd per person, and you can park your moped for free. We had hired our moped from Mũi Né so we had been closely watching the petrol level to make sure we had enough to get us back. When we returned from the boat trip, we set off and noticed we strangely had half the amount of petrol left in our tank than we had when we'd pulled up there, so we had to go to a petrol station to fill up again for the journey home. If you want to see the lighthouse and are travelling by moped, I would recommend paying to park outside the spa at the seafront. There are people selling boat tickets from there and it's much safer and you won't get petrol siphoned from your tank!
