The (in)famous 20-lane semi-deserted highway outside the Parliament Building. There's nothing else quite like it on earth - a must see!

This was my second time of using and looking at this road and I think it is great, one day the people would thank the authorities for this road, when most of the offices move to Nay Phi Taw, there would be no worries with traffic.

Heard of autobarns and here at Nay Pyi Taw you have 20 lane highway built with a foresight. Excellent infrastructure.

This lane is very wide range alone and boredom for driving a longside on the ground. As a same style road of Pyongyang of DPRK,nothing is on the road of Nay Pyi Taw,but very clean and smother except bother you. Many trees, water fountains, lotus monument are very attractive you.

Intriguing

Due to some ‘drone activity’ recently cars can not stop anywhere along the highway including on side roads to allow you to get out and walk along the highway. Police madly blow whistles and usher you back to your vehicle. The best you can do is drive slowly and take photo’s from your car.

Wide lonely road

Just amazing how nice the drive is and how much money it must have cost to make this. But one question that came up in my mind was 'Where are the people using it? Now where did they go?'

It was in the raining season but there wasn't rain when I reached there. I didn't feel like I was driving on the road with no other traffics behind me and further ahead..

Not Bad

When I read the reviews here about the road, I thought it will surely be ridiculous but I found it quiet normal, the brain behind it the construction of that road is to help with future traffic, one day that city will be so busy and they are well prepared for it.
Nice quiet place, loved it

Unique, bizarre and obscene all rolled into one

I certainly have never seen anything like this anywhere in my travels - a 20 lane road (10 each way) with no cars, it is quite strange, like most of Naypyitaw, but obscene that the inflated ego of some military dictator should decree that this extravagance should be built in a country with hunger and poverty.......

Not what it used to be.

When I first started coming to Naypyitaw 5 years ago, you could lay down on the road and have a nap and not see anyone. Those days are gone. While it's not as if there was traffic, we did see at least 15 vehicles. It's still very empty, but not so well suited for the desolate photo shoots that were once possible. I wouldn't really consider this as a destination anymore, but certainly take a second to marvel at it if you find yourself on it.

We hired a driver for the day and without asking he took us on the 20 lane highway which passes the Parliament then stopped in the center lane and asked to take our photograph, this is a weird and wonderful country and as many reviewers have written this highway can be empty so why build it so big, once you visit Nay Pyi Taw you will see lots of things are built big with so much space they can plan for the future. Enjoy the highway, the beautifully manicured gardens in the center and the roundabouts, a must see.
