Coffee Private Tour in the beautiful Jardin town (Full-Day)

22 reviews
What's more exciting than doing a coffee tour in Colombia? The answer is doing it in one of the most beautiful towns in the country: Jardin.

After you are picked up at your place in our private vehicles we head south-west of Medellin to get into the Colombian coffee region. The scenery throughout the drive is absolutely gorgeous.

Our first stop is the coffee farm where we are hosted by the warmest couple, we have a cup of coffee with them and then we start to learn everything about coffee and every single step to process it from picking to packing.

One of the highlights of the tour is the home-made lunch we have in the farm, cooked with organic farm-grown ingredients that will probably be the best lunch you will have in Colombia.

Then we drive for 15 minutes to the town of Jardin and we do a guided walking tour in the landmarks of the town and learn about its history. Jardin is a cultural heritage in Colombia and when you get there you'll see why, it's simply magical.

Get ready to step into a home built metal lattice cable car and be suspended by two long wire cables as it pulls you and a few others in this make shift cab hundreds of meters above a gorge. Just be sure to be balanced inside the cab, don’t rock the car off the cables and you will be rewarded with some great views at the top. The cost is reasonable at like 8,000 pesos and good cold beer at the cafe at the top. Highly recommend!

The actual ‘car’ has been updated (original up top for pics), but still a bit creeky and you do not want, nor should you make any sudden movements whilst in it. Sometimes, they make you wait for others to call the car.

I will point out we didn’t do the actual cable ride- we walked up to the stop at the top. Views not that good. Do yourself a favour and walk up to the Cristo de raya instead on the other side- the views are better and the man up there is super friendly

I enjoyed the ride and the view from the top. It's a very easy walk from the town center and you can do the whole thing in an hour. Unfortunately the small restaurant on the top can get easily crowded on weekends and there is not much else to do up there. An alternative to get similar views of town is hiring a tut-tut and visit El Cristo statue.

It'll get you to the other side of the ravine for a reasonable price. It's ridiculous to have a minimum number of characters. Please discontinue this requirement.
