Whilst the place is well set up for catering for visitors I feel they have taken advantage of visitors and locals as a financial milk cow. I was shocked at the cost of the cafe....£8.95 for a sandwich is just silly. Then the cost of...More

Great time at Whinlatter, with fun boosted by e-MTB bike! loads of good trails, really easily marked (better way marking than at Grizedale I thought) made for a fab and fun day out.

Keep in mind that this is a tourist attraction, so inevitably you will need to pay for the carpark. Not a big issue if you're going to spend some quality time there. If you're just after a coffee and a toilet break, don't bother. This...More

About 10 to 15 minutes away. There are traffic lights set up on Penrith Road near Millfeild retirement home at the moment which causes some delays but hopefully they won't be there for much longer.
