Lovely place to visit in the autumn, we have only been once so far but plan to re-visit in order to take the longest walking trail to get rewarded with the views. However, we walked the red route which was moderately hard with a few...More

We have visited Whinlatter twice in the past week. On one occasion my son (10) and I with our dog for a fabulous walk in the Autumn sunshine. On this visit we used the well marked walking trails - despite visiting often there always seems...More

I recently had 2 days at Whinlatter park and had so much fun, the trails are one of the best I've been on before! I recommend people to go there for biking and just for the views. And we'll run by forestry commission. Recommended!

This is a great place for a family day out, old or young. The cafe is good and there are easy trails alongside more challenging mountain biking. We also loved the child oriented wood sculptures of the Gruffalo etc.

SuJayne is right, there is quite a large playground if the weather is good. The visitors center is quite good but won't keep young children entertained for long. The Gruffalo trail through the woods is as long or short as... More

Hi You pay just before you leave and they take card or notes. It's about £3 for two hours.

Sorry I have only just seen your question. I am unsure if there is a bus up there but you could get a taxi and it is well worth it.
