The tides here are different every day. That's why it's so cool and new.
I recommend it to all couples, families, and friends. Any season can go. But it's windy, so be careful! Can feed seagulls. You can see mudflats and sandy beaches. Eat seafood and grill meat! People living in the Seoul metropolitan area or planning to travel are perfect for a two-day trip.

I took bus 1004 from Suwon. After about two hours of shaking, I was at the entrance to Jebu Island and took bus 50 to the island. On this day, the sea split was long and I could watch it without worrying about time. We had a lot of stops, but we didn't know when they were coming, so we waited at billboard-like stops. I took the ropeway to the other side, but the 1004-1 bus didn't seem to work, so I got on the 1002 and changed to the 1004 on the way back to Suwon. I rode the ropeway with no air conditioning and a bag of ice. It would be good to move slowly because there are no people at the bus stop in the middle of nowhere.

My family visited by cable car from Jeongok Port to enjoy the island. I used to take my car with me before, but this time I took the new cable car. It is a great place to spend a day slowly, such as walking trails, many restaurants, small mountains, and beaches. It is also a great place to travel by foot and enjoy the day.

This is not far from Seoul. About 60km or so. BUT do not go there on a public holiday as I did. The traffic was a nightmare. It took 3+ hours by car. Bumper to bumper as everyone was escaping Seoul on this Friday which was a public holiday. Anyway its an island just 1-2km from the mainland and its interesting because you drive there during low tide when the sea is out! Apparently at 10.30am or so you can drive across but you have to leave before 8pm when the tide comes back in. The 2 attractions we went there for was the seafood. Enormous clams and shell creatures, oysters etc which you bbq yourself at the many restaurants along the coast. The other attraction is the beach area. Setup your tent or hire a beach umbrella on the sand and let the kids play. Safe because the tide is out and your kids can explore the little pools of water left behind. Good day out. Just avoid the spring or summer public holiday!!

Surrounded by mudflat, very cold and chilly winter experience during our tour. But very nice view. I saw some seagulls defying the harsh cold weather... Must try clam noodle soup on restaurant nearby.

Be sure to check the high tide timings before planing a trip here.. The way to Jebudo gets below sea level during high tide and the road is closed. you can witness this wonderful sea-parting if you are there at the right time.
A nice place to relax with great seafood restaurants. Beach is not so clean.

Jebudo - both the island and the town - are great for scenery and eating seafood. Just be sure what you are ordering, as you may end up with a surprise, where you think you are ordering fish stew and end up getting octopus and crab stew instead.
Both are tasty, but if you wanted fish, you're expecting fish...
Another surprise is the pottery shop, where many unexpected souvenirs lie in wait at very reasonable prices.
Be sure to visit the cafe in the ship perched on top of the hill for some great coffee and a spectacular view.
Easily within reach of Suwon, this is a little jewel.

Nice small island with beach and many restaurants. We enjoyed seafood in one of them. There is only one way to/from island which is closed regularly. Be careful of it.

For a change, we have decided to drive a car rental from Incehon airport directly to Jebudo to see the sea. It was famous becuase the sea seperates into a bridge road during low tide and merges into a sea during high tide, covering the whole road connection to Jebudo. We were lucky as there was not much information. Apparently there were 2 low tides and 2 high tides in a day. We bearly make it before it closes for the high tide. The times during this was was 7 am tp 310pm for low tide and 8pm to 33am for low tide. We drove once to Jebudo right at 3pm, and decided to u-turn back to the big island or else we needed to wait until 8pm. The merging of the sea waa pretty amazing as it just happened in a well half hour. However, it was not best catered for tourists to see becuz it was so hard to see from afar. We endes up sitting at one of the restaurants to watch the whole high tide, which approx. takes an hr to finish.

This area has so much to offer. Nice beach camping, beatiful cafes with sea view, nice restaurants, and well, its own innate magic that you start feeling once you cross that road that disappears under the water.
Such a nice area to go with friends!
