About
An interesting journey through the history of the windmills in Fuerteventura. This unique experience will make you discover among other things the importance that was given to the grain from Prehistoric Times in the Island, the "Gofio" as an essential nutrient for the "Majorero" people over centuries or learning how to make the difference between a male or a female windmill.

cool gofio museum
Aug 2021 • Couples
nice small museum displaying the traditional way of making gofio. We were greeted by a very nice and enthusiastic girl, who gave us a short tour and a sample of a gofio sweet after the visit. worth a visit.

Different Windmill
Sep 2020 • Couples
10 minutes drive South from the Museo del Queso Majorero & the other windmill Molino de Antigua is this Windmill & another very informative Museum.

The Windmill itself is very similar in design, but there are slight differences in the build.

The main theme to this museum is the way to make Gifio, which is a Canarian Flour, & they make it into 'fudge like' balls that you can eat.

Another different, informative & interesting place.

Great little experience!
Mar 2020 • Couples
We visited the windmill & information centre quite by chance & what a wonderful little place it is!We were briefly shown the rooms with some verbal information then left to our own devices to explore.
The rooms & information are bilingual & have good pictures & models & there is a video to watch at the end.The windmill itself is lovely to explore & a great photo opportunity in the grounds. We had a demonstration of how to make ‘gofio’ & best of all tasted it!
The best part of the visit was Gemma on the desk who initially welcomed us with a big smile & was so enthusiastic about the visitor centre. She was also kind enough to give us lots of information about places to visit on the rest of the island.
This place is only small but well worth the €4 entrance fee.
Our thanks to Gemma for a great visit .

Lovely museum
Mar 2020 • Couples
Cosy little museum about the traditional canarian food gofio, and how it’s made. (You can even taste it.) Explains the whole process from the beginning till the end. Everything is tidy and well presented. It was very interesting to see a wind mill inside and to understand how does it work.
Gemma was wonderful, very helpful and kind, made our visit even more worthy! Thank you!

Thank you very much for your kind score. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your experience in our Interpretation center of the Windmills in Tiscamanita so positively and we wish to see you again very soon. We take this opportunity to recommend the visit to the Majorero Cheese Museum in Antigua, as well as the salt museum in the Salinas del Carmen, where we hope you will also enjoy the culture of Fuerteventura's traditions.

A very interesting little museum.

A small museum well worth calling in to if you are passing by. A nicely restored windmill forms the maIn point of interest but there are a few other interpretive displays which are interesting too. As usual, it's immaculately clean and tidy. We were welcomed by Gemma, who was really enthusiastic and very proud of her local heritage. So friendly and willing to share time and stories with us.

The beach at Los Molinos
Dec 2019
We came here by hire car today. It was a bit out of the way but very attractive, great beach, crashing waves and fine cliffs. There are a couple f short walks and a fresh water stream and pond with plenty of birds. A most unusual and attractive bridge spans the stream at the car park. A couple of cafes with wonderful views complete the scene.

Just perfect

A bit of a drive to get to this place but once there a very quiet place, with a quaint cafe/bar.

The drive there shows great scenery and it’s worth a day trip for lunch
