Our kids (aged 7 and 9) loved this unique little attraction. They chose to pan and dig (dinosaur enthusiast son) for gemstones and fossils rather than gold, and have excitedly spent the rest of their day researching their treasures. As others have said, it may...More

Very small facility, but a good short stop. We also got a large bucket for "gem mining" for the kids. It was worth the extra cost, even though it only took about 10 minutes or so to get through the bucket. They also have some...More

Came here when staying at Big Bear Lake. The shop is extremely touristy and has a lot of things for the younger generation. We did pan for gold and after about an hour or so, had managed to find a couple of small, and I...More

So glad you choose to include our destination as one of the activities during your stay. Gold panning is definitely time consuming. Can you imagine what is was like for the miners back in the early days? Wow, what hard work for sometimes not even...More

We are so glad you stopped in to try the mining. Yes, when separating sand and gravel from treasures using water, it doesn't take much time, especially when there are young enthusiastic children doing the process. We love to watch and see their faces light...More
