With its many little towers and its romantic atmosphere, surrounded by peaceful nature, Schloss Marienburg is nestled on top of a hill. The castle was a present and token of his love of King George V from Hannover to his wife Queen Marie in the...More

Beautiful castle with an interesting history and ties to the British Monarchy. Audio guide was informative enough to learn more details about the castle. The only nitpick would be that you've got to stick with the German-speaking guide despite of listening to English audio guide...More

It seams like everybody complains about guided tours but castle admins don't care. I loved the castle. It is genuine authentic neo-gothic style castle with well preserved furniture and paintings and decor. Worth seeing. Only down side is the forced guided tours. You can't just...More

This is a gorgeous castle and definitely worth a visit. We took a tour using a headset for English translation and it tied in with the tour guides movements from room to room so we didn't feel we had missed anything. We were staying in...More

Although we didn't have time to do a tour of the castle, we were able to walk around the outside and into the central courtyard and look through the windows. It was well worth visiting and the castle was simply beautiful. If I ever have...More

First Impressions count, and this one is lovely just appearing out of the wood as if it had been there hundreds of years. Its only when you go in you find its quite recent and not finished yet. To visit you must take a guided...More

Maybe not impressive, but quite "handsome" castle. Unless you did a castle-oriented tour through northern France, Scotland or southern Germany. Still, nice. Last admission to the tower at around 3 o'clock during high season as well as tour-exclusive admission (never works well with children) is...More

A nice visit to this impressive castle. The structure is well kept and tha-e audioguide gives you the possibility of enjoying a tour of the castle even if you don't understand German. Loads of activities for families and costume tours for children.

I would say it is enough time but it does depend also on the weather, whether you stop at the cafe and whether or not there is another exhibition to view in addition to the guided tour of the castle.

As far as I know you must go to the Central station of Hildesheim and take the S-bahn , take S4, in 20 min tops you will be at the Marienburg Castle. But check first at your hotel this info, just to be sure. Have fun!
