We visited towards the end of October but the weather was beautiful on the day we went, and thanks to the time of year, there were hardly any other visitors there that day. The gardens are simply breathtaking and well worth the visit if you love garden architecture and design. The shapes of the hedges and shrubbery are beautifully geometric. The shrubs trimmed in cylinders near the chapel made me feel like I was Alice in Wonderland--in the Red Queen's garden. A walk down the lane across from the main portal is also a geometric treat for the eye.

Enjoyed the many different shapes of the trees and hedges. The geometrical patterns are very intriguing.
The admission price may be a little high, but realizing the amount of work it takes to maintain it is understandable.

Thank you for your kind words of appreciation and realism. A balanced comment is as rare as valuable. We had to highlight it, even if late. :-)

This is a beautiful formal garden, laid out on four terraces. There is also a lovely old chapel, and a rose garden.
Until I reached the sacred Spring behind the chapel, I had thought the Chateau and gardens were quite special.
However, the dead fish floating in the sacred pond totally took the gloss off our visit. They had clearly been dead for some time; either due to lack of feeding or polluted water. Either way, simply unacceptable treatment of a fish, let alone any form of life. If I could speak French I would have called the local authorities to lay a formal complaint.
It made me wonder what other livestock on the estate are treated like?
Cannot recommend to anyone with a conscience.

This is one of my favourite gardens in Normandy. The box hedging and topiary are all neat and crisp. We visit in June, so enjoy the roses and sunshine.

Don’t use Apple Maps as it’ll take you in completely the wrong direction, but once you find it is utterly worth the effort. A most spectacularly serene and ordered garden. Go and see it, you’ll be delighted.

It's a bit of challenge to get to, but your GPS will guide you there and you'll be delighted.
This is a gorgeous French garden, exquisitely manicured and terraced, associated with the chateau which is closed.
It occupies multiple levels and each presents slightly different views.
The gardens consist of beautifully manicured shrubs, small fountains, and a few flowers, but don't expect a flower garden like Giverny.
We were there on a perfect spring afternoon, and it was almost empty, so I suspect it never gets crowded

This is a garden that really repays a visit. From the entry court located within its gated walls to the splendid terraces, so beautifully conceived and detailed, this is an exquisite combination of home and garden made only more memorable by the addition of the local redundant church into the ensemble. Few places offer such a satisfying visit and if you happen upon the owner himself his passion and enthusiasm can only add to your enjoyment.

I'm a landscape historian and would like to visit the gardens. What are the days and hours of opening in the next 3 days, please? Thank you.
