Just off the main N7 but clearly visible from the main road. Full of interesting things to buy and to eat. There is a wide assortment of curios, farm things and rural souveniers. The food is good but the service is slow - this is all forgiven because of the friendliness of the folk working there. A pleasure to visit.

A pit stop in Garies with all sorts of goodies and definitely worth a stop! Everything was fresh, the staff were friendly despite the busload of people that arrived after us. Loos were clean which is always a bonus. Despite the drought, we did get info on where to find flowers during the time we were visiting. The rusks we bought were a welcome addition to our padkos!

We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped here for refreshments. Plenty interesting things in the shop to browse while they prepare the food.

We had milkshakes and toasted sandwiches that were well prepared and good value.

Friendly and efficient staff as well. Worth the stop.

The Garies Toeristestal is a small restaurant and a gift shop. The food is simple, but tasteful. There are also interesting crafts and local candies to sell in this place.

We had left Hondeklipbaii in a windy sandstorm with no electricity, no water, unable to do ablutions !!....& this was our first & very welcome stop !.....we enjoyed pleasant staff & a wholesome breakfast with reasonable quality & very inexpensive.
Interesting selection of local goods & produce to peruse while you are waiting for your meal. Very handy just off N7

We stopped by at Garies looking for a quick lunch stop on the way back to Cape Town from Namibia. This tearoom/curio shop is just off the highway into Garies, and although not a big selection of food, sufficient for a quick lunch/refreshment stop, and nice shop with quite a variety of interesting items at really good prices.
They used to be open in flower season only, but now right through the year, and in my opinion well worth a visit.

We started off at Springbok during this wild flower season, but could find much due to the drought. I tried to obtain info from the Flower line, from which I heard during a broadcasting, but never receive any response on my enquiry.
Springbok Lodge referred us to Sonja from Garries Toeristestal for accurate information.
Sonja really is the Flower angel of the area, and still guides with friendliness, patience and precision visitors to the flower areas - just like when we visited Garries in 2011! We enjoyed the spectacular trip in the Kammiesberge which she suggested, as well as the flower farms in Nieuwoudtsville.
The Toeristestal also sells local speciality food and an interesting selection of kettles.
We are looking forward to the next visit!
