Great to see koalas in natural setting. Brilliant bird life and a trip worth making. Once you can see the koalas in the trees and know what to look for there are some great photo opportunist. A good day out......

It is a little disappointing that I don't get to see flocks of colourful birds flying towards us like what I experienced in 2014. We only saw 1 koala on the tree and a few bright coloured birds this time round. Perhaps it is because...More

I can't express enough how much I loved this place! In fact it was one of the highlights of my GOR road trip. If you've always wanted to see koalas in their natural habitat that's the place to go! And if you have a car,...More

Told by colleague that this place is not to miss if you want to spot some wild koalas. Stopped by before the GOR journey. Perhaps it is during winter time or lack of luck, I managed to spot only 1 wild koala which is sleeping....More

We didn't see as many Koalas as we would hope but the area is very pretty, the birds were beautiful and we did spot at least 3 Koalas. People were feeding the birds even though you are told not to so they were somewhat aggressive

Beautiful place with a stretch of pathway with many trees along the pathway with koalas.. There are also things to do there such as feed the ducks and parrots and also small lodging places and a quaint cafe. Great to see wild koalas, though there...More

This is one beautiful camping site along the GOR. You can also spot a lot of beautiful birds, koalas and some kangaroos in their natural habitat.

We walked along the river and back, the path is easy to identify. At the time that we walked we did not see any other people but did see several koalas and a couple of kangaroo's. It was beautiful and peaceful, highly recommend.

Stayed at Kennett River Holiday Park for 10 days. Had to be up early to beat the tour buses offload their passengers who take over the walk along Grey River Road. The parrots are amazing, so many and so tame. Bird seed available at cafe....More

We got recommended this by the Lorne Visitor Centre and was well worth the drive to Kennet River. Following the turn off for 500m we walked for about 45 minutes enjoying spotting many Koalas totally in their own environment

Could you please tell me if you walk to see the Koalas from the Kenett river shop? Is that where it is?

Hi Caroline, yes you can park at the store and walk up grey river road. Alternatively, you can drive up grey river road and park on the side as the road is quite wide. There are koalas all the way along usually
