I really wanted to visit this geopark, but i really couldnt figure out how to enter the resourt. The adress is leading to something like a private business, named “geopark zelezne hory” but there is little to no resemblance. It actually looks like a museum with a parking lot in the back.

We visited the Seč Reservoir which is nestled in the Iron Mountains. It is a nice area filled with small villages away from most big cities. There are a number of nice watering holes you can go to for a beer and some good food. This area isn't big on attractions, because the natural beauty of it is an attraction in its own. There are ruins of the Oheb Castle that you can walk to through the forest. From there you will get a wonderful view of the reservoir and its singular island. Vildstejn Castle ruins are also nearby at the Seč Dam. The area also has various hiking trails and bicycle paths for those who like to journey without a car. I definitely recommend spending some time in this area, if you love nature.

Iron Mountain is a very nice walk. All signs are in Czech but the trail is clearly marked and easy to navigate. The hike does have a steep vertical set of steps that can get your heart rate up. However, there is a bench to catch your breath once you have reached the top. To find it go to the Information Center in Tremošnice and past it on Tovární (about 300M) till the road ends. Park on the side, walk across the bridge and your one the trail. The only tricky part is when you reach the cul-e-isac simply walk to the right side like you were going to walk behind the building there. Beautiful walk very in touch with nature. Suitable for everyone (don't bring a stroller, and not suitable for seniors with walkers).
