About Secret Italia Tours - Small Group Tours & Private Excursions
We have worked with major New Zealand, Australian and American large Tour Operators as tour managers particularly in Sicily and Malta where some of our staff are based. We take you to the places that we like visiting - All our tours are organised directly by us as we believe it is most important to guide you to make the right choice when choosing the right tour experience. All our tours are in a small group context (8-14 participants) giving a more personal touch and flexibility where needed. We want you to experience Italy and Malta as a local through unique experiences in contact with local people..this is what an experience of life is made of! We also leave some time each day for you to explore at your own pace so you can get a sense of how it is to live like a local. We all look forward to making your holiday in South Italy, Sicily and Malta a magical and unique experience! Arrivederci! Aldo

This was our second trip with Secret Italia Tours – having been to Puglia with them in 2019 -- and we loved every minute of it. Where to start? The itinerary was perfect; the variety of locations we visited (historic places, wineries, farms, hilltop villages and seaside resorts) and our experiences (touring historic city centers, ancient ruins, fortresses and burial grounds, exploring sea caves, making pasta, tasting the wines of the region, even milking goats and savoring the freshly made cheese) speak to what travel abroad should be. With all that there was still ample time to kick back, swim, shop and wander the alleys and back streets so characteristic of French and Italian towns. And when we concluded each day’s adventures we returned to our well-located first-class hotel. It was clear that each hotel was carefully selected to provide a high level of comfort, convenience and personal service. The included breakfasts at each gave us a good, healthy start to the day. And while we’re on the subject of food, the meal offerings and restaurants were spectacular and the portions more than plentiful. The accompanying wine selections complimented the food in every way. This was truly a small group tour (there were eight of us in total). As with the group we traveled with in Puglia, all of us had much in common, including a rich history of travel to places all around the globe. We are already looking forward to our next European adventure with Secret Italia Tours, wherever that may take us.

This tour was 12 days Sardinia and Corsica. It was superb. I do not know of any other tour company that offer this kind of tour. Aldo was our tour manager and Paula was our Sardinia guide. Aldo takes great care to make sure his travelers are well taken care of and in addition he is a lot of fun. Paula is a true Sardinian, very knowledgeable and charming. I had no idea Sardinia has so much ancient history and Paula did her best to educate us. in Corsica we had three different tour guides and they were all very good. Thru the whole trip Nicola was our bus driver. Not only was he an excellent driver navigating thru the most impossible narrow passages etc - he also was a very nice helpful person and fun to be with. Have never become so fond of a bus driver as I did with Nicola. Enjoyed this trip very much. Nice travel companions, nice accommodations and plenty of wine and good food.

We just finished a 10 day tour of Puglia with Secret Italia tours. After researching many tour companies, we decided to go with an Italian company specializing in small group/private tours. Our tour far exceeded all of our expectations! Aside from the beautiful cities and small picturesque towns we visited and the bountiful gourmet meals we had, the extra experiences of cooking pasta with an Italian family, making bread with a family run bakery, wine tastings, olive oil tastings, cheese tastings, and breathtaking vistas immersed you in the culture in a way that no other tour could have accomplished. Our guide, Paola immediately treated us like family and her vast knowledge of the region and history was very impressive. Her joyful personality made every moment of the trip truly special and memorable. The accommodations were all boutique hotels with large rooms and beautiful views, with many places being former palaces! The owner, Aldo personally arranges the entire itinerary tending to every little detail to make this an exceptional experience from mountain towns to seaside cities. There was never a moment of waiting for a transfer or question that went unanswered. My husband and I have travelled extensively, but we have never been on a trip where we didn't have to worry about anything! The transfers, meals, side trips, length of activities, and free time were great. We are both in our 60's and the level of activity was perfect for us. Again, Aldo's thoughtful planning including stops for street food and time with the locals made this trip extra special. If you're thinking about booking with Secret Italia, rest assured that it will be a great trip!

We just returned from Secret Italia’s Sicily, “A Land of Contrasts”, 12-day small group tour. Everything about this experience exceeded our expectations! As first-time visitors to Sicily, we felt that the intinerary provided a perfect introduction to the unique historical, cultural and culinary aspects of this beautiful region of Italy. From the moment of our initial airport transfers in Palermo, to the final departure from Catania, every aspect of the tour was meticulously organized. The experience and care of the owners, Aldo and Katrin, clearly shows in the selection of the lovely local hotels, which were situated to allow easy exploration of the town centers during our free time. The local guides chosen to cover the various archeological sites were very knowledgeable. The delicious included meals were arranged to provide a nice sampling of local specialties in excellent restaurants and local street markets. A home-hosted lunch and a fun pizza and pasta making experience were particularly memorable. Communication with Aldo throughout the booking process and beyond was always great. The tour was made extra special by our main tour guide, Giusi. She is such a friendly and delightful person! In addition to sharing a wealth of helpful and interesting information about Sicily, she was always working one step ahead to make sure that every daily detail was organized and communicated to our small group (even including arranging COVID testing at a local pharmacy before our departure). Our expert driver, Andrea, also deserves special mention. We always felt safe and secure in our comfortable mini-bus as he negotiated the many hills and winding roads of Sicily. Overall, we would strongly recommend Secret Italia for an excellent small group tour experience They are first class!

We recently returned from this trip and I am still digesting it all… the history, the art, the natural beauty, the architecture, the food…. all of this and more, enjoyed with beloved family members! Who could ask for more? This tour was very well planned by Secret Italia and our wonderful guide, Giusi, was terrific! She was consistently professional and shared her wealth of knowledge with so much warmth. We thoroughly enjoyed being with her and also enjoyed spending our travel time with our awesome driver, Andrea. Professional, prompt, and calm behind the wheel, Andrea always gave us smooth rides. We felt very well cared for by both Giusi and Andrea and that helped to make our trip relaxing and fun. Secret Italia also provided guides for special historic places we visited; all of them did a very nice job with our group. I highly recommend Secret Italia tours!!
