Its an amazing palatial home and takes you back in time ..We were showed around by Andre the grandson and he was so eager to share all information about the history of the place. There are antiques dating many centuries. The Ballroom and those corridors are so enchanting and mesmerizing. Must visit place.

The Portuguese era house and its antique furniture and crockeries are worth a look for all visitors. Goa is not just about beaches, drinks and food. The 500 year old history of its occupation is also worth learning about. Keep about an hour and a half to see and appreciate all the items on display.

We visited this house may be about 20 years ago. At that time there were no fees. At the end of the tour you could voluntarily drop contributions in a box placed for the purpose. A brown Goan lady in Western attire was sitting at the entrance cum exit. Although the building and interior are in Portuguese style, the building belongs to a family of Goan converts. So it should be called Goan House. It has two parts that were inherited by two brothers. One brother neglected his part while the other, being more dynamic and resourceful, developed and embellished his part to make it a beautiful Portuguese style house. A lot of colonial furniture, kitchenware, crockery and wall pieces and several works of art decorate the house. A ride from the hotel of may be an hour or an hour and a half gives the visitor a looksee at then Goan countryside and villages. The past several generations of the Braganza family deserve kudos for maintaining this piece of Portuguese influence on Goa's Konkani Catholic society.
