The big upper arm mammoth bone (about 3 or 4 feet long) in the downstairs of the museum is impressive. Not catering to an international public (mainly Dutch signs), but most is self explanatory. As of May 2017 the City Museum is cohabitating with The Museum Henriette Polak, that used to have its own building a couple of streets further. But since the reorganization and renovation it is all in one building. The city museum is one floor down and the ground level. The other museum is one floor up. They should just combine the two and seel just one ticket in stead of holding on to how things used to be.

Due to moving to another location in Zutphen, which is being built momentarily. they closed the museum down months ago. Somewhat premature, I think, because the new location won't be ready until Spring or early Summer next year ( !). I think that's terrible! I visited it some time ago (long before August 2015, but you can't choose an earlier date down here) and it's a really nice little museum.

This is a fairly standard local history museum. There are some items related to WWII. From earlier times there are some childrens' clothes and games, some decorative dishes, some religious items, old tiles, silverware, and glassware, some paintings, and some water buckets for extinguishing fires.

This museum is very simple. The exhibition is nice but do not expect to find extraordinary things there. There you will find information about the history of the city of Zutphen.
