Great place to relax
Sep 2021
There are two adjacent gardens. The River Dour runs alongside one, Russel Gardens, and through the other, Kearsney Abbey Gardens forming the large lake with a large population of waterfowl. There is a cafe iIKearsney which serves teas, coffees and hot and cold snacks. Although they are designate gardens I would class them as parks. They are great places to sit, relax and watch the world go by.

Beautiful
May 2021 • Family
We had a pleasant walk about exploring the area. It is a lovely place, but I’m sure it’s even nicer when the sun in shining! That being said the carpark is quite small, so although there were plenty of spaces I can imagine on a good day they are much trickier to come across.

Lovely place to visit. Food cart not that understanding
Jun 2021
We took our service user out for the day and for a meal out. The food cart was sell egg sandwiches so we asked if they could do an omelette as he has problems with most of what they were sell. They declined. We went for a tuna sandwich and was told they make up there tuna in advance as we asked for just a straight tuna and mayo. Unknown to use they had sweetcorn in it as well, which he is unable to have. We check his food and prepare it before hand so noticed this. Sometimes a little bit off understanding is nice with venders when trying to purchase food. Not everyone can have the added bits that they put in. We did have a lovely walk around the gardens and the wild life was great

Works continuing but well worth a walk in the woods!
Nov 2020
Yes, the works seem to have been going on for a very long time but you can still keep away from some of it and enjoy a walk in the woods. This time of year (autumn) it is beautiful. There were also a pair of swans and their 7 fairly large cygnets.

It really is worth going for a walk around the gardens and in the woods.

Building site
Aug 2020
This could be a lovely pair of parks again, but empires have grown and fallen in the time it has taken to revamp the car park and cafe. I've been coming for 3 years and in all that time it has been a building site. It should be an embarassment to the local authority and whoever is in charge should be replaced. There is now, inexplicably, Heras fencing around the boating lake. The whole area is a complete shambles.

A nice garden to walk around
Aug 2020
A pretty garden for a walk around. There were lots of pictures of different features, which were difficult to find but was fun to explore. The temporary toilets were pleasant to use.

Nice for a stroll with family
Jul 2020 • Couples
Have been here twice now. I love that it’s spread over two sides. The car park is often busy. Families can enjoy a picnic or stroll on the side with the pond and swans, great for dog walking that side too. On the other side you need to put dog on lead as it has the lake and is more landscaped. There’s the lake and small waterfalls and bridges where we saw a few kids paddling on a hot dayThe grounds have beautiful trees. It’s a good spot to pass an hour in the countryside and lots of baby coots and swans could be seen when we were there.

Great for couples and families
Aug 2020 • Couples
Been here several times. Love the walk, shame there are works going on at the moment meaning that a lot of the area is restricted.

Can get very busy in the hot sun

Beautiful spot
Mar 2020 • Family
Both side of Kearsney Abbey are beautiful in different ways. The side with the long pond is currently undergoing lots of improvements including a new play area for children, it's very tranquil walking along the water edge.
The other side has its own charms with a park area for children, plenty of grass areas for picnics, another more natural waterway with its nooks and crannies. Both sides are a joy to take your family too.
