The water temperature is too cold. Especially the outside pool is far too cold.
They heat the water less on purpose. I came here the first time 35 years ago. Always very happy and all wad good. But not any more, too sad.
The most important reason you come to Leukerbad is warm water. That reason is gone. And please don't blame this on "environment issues ".

The water outside is too cold to stay more than 5 minutes. The cleanliness is average. Poor diversity (just 2 pools, with some bubbles not even always) The services are poor (no soap in the shower, entrance desk underground and staff not friendly, labirinth to reach the parking)

The SPA part is old and not well maintained. The changing room and showers are discusting.
The basic spa offer is limited to only two pools with little surprises. You have to pay extra (and strip) if you want to visit Sauna land.
It feels like nothing has happend here since the 80s. Look for options and skip this SPA.

Well, I need to start by saying that this place has been my favorite retreat since 2010, where I would come many times during the year, all year around. When I heard that it got sold to the Russians from Heliopark Hotels a few years ago, I got worried at first (that the condition and service might deteriorate) but then things were going pretty well as it looked, the facility had been kept in more or less the same condition and so the service. Unfortunately, Heliopark has later sold the place to some other Russians (some "Thermal Hotels" company who runs only this very place) and these ones are not that peculiar neither about the upkeep of the spa nor about the customer service. Increasingly, by month, the spa dilapidates - clogged water jets do not get fixed, mold does not get cleaned, stone walls in the sauna-village are all tainted, staff count gets reduced (re. earlier comments here)... worst of all - as I have experienced during my latest visit (and probably the last until things there change), they now also reduce sauna temperatures - not sure if this is because I came in at around 19.00 (well, two hours before closure) or they just do it generally throughout the day (to cut the costs?) but there definitely was no steam in the steam-room. Considering that the entry fee is also quite pricey, the overall experience appears questionable to say the least. Hopefully, this "management" retires and sells the place to someone more competent sooner rather than later - before the reputation of the lovely Alpentherme is completely ruined.

We went to this thermal spa after a lengthy walk in the snow up and down hills. What can I say? This is pure bliss. The spa is kept very clean. What makes it even better is that people there are generally very respectful to each other and don't speak loudly, and this sure helps the relaxation process. My husband is a bit deaf and therefor speaks up, and I can safely say he was the only one with a loud-ish voice during our stay. Very few things can beat sitting in the warm mineral water in the snow looking up at the majestic Apls. This was the moment when it downed on me how lucky we were to be able to come and experience this. Some tips for you if this will be your first visit:
- Get your own bathrobe and towel. The reception on the floor 0 can lend you a towel for 5 franks but not the robe.
-When you come to the -2 floor and enter the spa area, the first thing you will see to your right is an array of booths with two doors. One door is marked with a sign of a shoe, the other with the sign of a bare foot. Enter the door with the shoe sign, lock both doors and take off your clothes and shoes. Put your swimsuit on. Place your clothes on the hangers provided in booths and carry them with you. Exit through the door with a bare foot sign and proceed to the second room where lockers are provided for your belongings. Try to avoid bulky wardrobe items as the lockers are not big. Put the key bracelet on your wrist and go and a take a shower. After exiting showers turn left and walk upstairs to the pools. The water is about 36 C and various jet and bubble massage areas are available in both indoor and outdoor pools. There is smaller hotter bath in the indoor pool.
- If you have long hair please be considerate of others and wear a cap.
- The spa offers access to the sauna village which is very much worth a visit too. 5 hours will cost you about 30 franks for 2. Just keep in mind the saunas are mixed gender and nude, so no wet swimming suites!
- There are little cafeterias available in the spa area, but for us the best thing was a cafe just down the corridor after we exited the spa. Excellent coffee, tea, juices, sandwiches and hot soups, not to mention cakes and Swiss chocolates. We went there every single day of our stay.
- This spa is probably more suitable for adults, though there were people with kids. There is another spa in Leukerbad with slides and other fun things to do for children.
- If you want the spa virtually to yourself go there early in the morning. It starts at 8 am.

Don't get me wrong, the facilities are ok... Clean enough, the views are nice. Few things can be improved of course, like for example having a single bracelet for the access, lockers, saunas and paying at the bar, so you won't have to carry both the bracelet and the locker key on you... But ok, I guess they just don't like innovation and don't take such inconveniences into consideration. Not to mention the prices at the bar? 8 CHF for a really mediocre bottled beer, really? And you're not even allowed to take the glass to the resting area, you must be suck at the bar. Ok, nevermind, taking the whole "ski resort" thing as an excuse... But when you're already finished and just trying to get out of the facilities - suddenly you realize that you have to pay for the drinks before you exit, to the machine that don't accept credit cards or bills, but ONLY coins??? Really? How the hell should a tourist know that he must carry the coins with him??? No warning at the reception, no sign, no one to help you when you're stuck inside. No one cares. And when you finally getting out by literally begging some other guests for change - you come to the reception just to find out that they are AWARE of the situation, but absolutely don't care and don't intend to do anything about it. Outrageous!

The spot is nice and quiet. The pool is really hot and I would like to come back BUT the way the lady welcomed us is unacceptable. Its the first time I see this in Switzerland. No one smile no one hello, she didn’t look at us one time. She threw the bracelets on the desk and no one goodbye. We had to ask her if everything was ok and if we can leave, she was already doing another thing. We felt like we were disturbing her. This girl has to change her work and go somewhere she does not have contact with anyone. Really sad to see this kind of education and im ashamed that tourists could think this is the way we welcome tourists in Switzerland.

Me and my husband went there for an anniversary get away with the intention of having relaxing day at the spa, so we bought the saunas package too. We were having a great time until we were leaving... i was taking shower and some guy entered the ladies bathroom, pretending that he is lost, at least this is what I thought!
After my shower I went to the changing room to get dressed, all of the sudden I looked in the mirror and I saw one creepy guy (happened to be the same one from the bathroom)looking at me from above the wall from the changing room next to mine. I got so scared and started screaming, my husband came right away the creep admitted that he was looking at me and escaped back to the spa ! We went to the reception and explained them the whole situation, I was horrified and shaking, so they made me wait in the coffee shop and my husband went back with them to get the creep. He was hiding in the saunas! After the staff ensured us that he will never come back to the spa, the manager- mr. Luder came to apologize and gave us his business card, saying that he needs our address to be sent on his email, so he can send us a voucher for a small compensation, we thought that this is kind of him, even though they didn’t even offer us at least to refund our money for the horrible experience, we were still fine. The next morning I send him an email with our address, but he never bothered to reply!!!
Me and my husband studied hospitality in Switzerland and were very surprised disappointed from the mr. Luder’s behavior and having to neglected such a scary situation.

In all my years of traveling and visiting spas in the world, Walliser Alpentherme & Spa ranks the worst in terms of installation and service.

Despite the spa being included with the hotel package, one has to stand again at the spa reception. We wanted to visit the Roman-Irish baths. But the installation was a labyrinth and once we found the door to the Roman-Irish baths, it close, as the bracelet given to us didn’t permit access to that installation.

When asking for assistance from the staff, the staff present was in a bad humor and we were treated with disdain with no help at all.
