Really professional snowboard board shop and the staff are friendly and welcoming and always happy to help. Nothing is ever to much for them. Recently bought a snowboard I am really pleased with the snowboard and was well advised.

We rented skis and boots for the week. We also rented snowshoes and poles for a one day trek. Everyone in the shop speaks English. In fact, the owner grew up in California near LA when his Swiss father was there on business during his MS and HS years.
McBoard is on the main road in the middle of Villars and is very easy to get to. There is usually parking available directly in front of the store.
Everyone in our party was happy with the fit of the boots and the quality of the skis. The fittings went well and were completed in a timely manner.
One thing different than the US is there are different qualities of skis available to rent. The higher quality skis cost about $5 per day extra and the edge is sharpened all the way up to the front tip. If you are not used to this edge, you can easily catch it in the snow. I chose the better ski and was very pleased. The others in our party chose the regular skis and were also happy.
I told the associate my skis at home were 176cm. She recommended the 170cm length and I took her advice. The skis were fine but, if I had to do it again, I would have rented the 176cm skis. Another associate recommended a pole that was shorter length than my poles at home. If I had to do it again, I would have stayed with the length with which I am familiar. Go with your gut!
Food for thought. I saved about $70 by renting skis only. I brought my own boots from the US. They weigh 12 pounds and fit easily into my checked bag.
The snowshoes were a good quality and the associates were very patient in making sure we knew how to adjust them properly. This was a really good activity after skiing two days straight. We took the train to Bretaye and walked down the mountain to a little restaurant for lunch. Then we walked the rest of the way into Villars. It was a wonderful and picturesque walk. I highly recommend it as an activity on an off-ski day.
We used our American credit cards to pay for the rentals. The receipt gives the total in Swiss francs and American dollars. I liked that.

I had to buy a new pair of ski boots while in Villars and pop in in this nice place on the village's Main Street. The choice was quite large and the services very professional. Lorenzo, a young man working there was very helpful and found me the right size and the right model for my feet. The place sell also nice sport clothes and dirt bikes. The prices are correct and you should profit of their end of season sales.

I went into the branch in Barboleuse with a broken binding, they took the time to fix it for me, they were super friendly and helpful and asked for no money, just a contribution to the tips jar, great guys, we hired bikes from them last Summer as well, highly recommend them, Thanks guys! I was able to ride for the rest of my holiday thanks to you!

Mc Board are a professional, friendly and great value ski and snowboard hire place. They gave great advice and tailored our equipment to exactly what we needed. Nothing was too much trouble.

The staff at McBoard was very friendly and helpful during our visit to Villars! The shop was very well organized to find exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend this shop for affordable ski rentals in the winter and mountain biking rentals in the spring/summer. Can't wait to come back!

While visiting Villars we stopped into McBoard to get some gear on the recommendation of a friend. We were so glad we did. The team there not only helped us with the gear we needed (new helmet, goggles and gloves) but also gave us some great advice on the local area. It helped us make the most of our time in Villars, and ensured we didn't miss out on some great local spots. Cannot recommend highly enough for anyone in the area.
