About
Welcome to Verbier 4Vallées! If you were asked what Verbier means to you, you might say freedom or adventure, thrills or spectacular scenery, or maybe all four. And you would be quite right! In Switzerland, the Verbier 4Vallées resort is like no other. It has 410 km of runs, ranging from the easiest to the most demanding. Verbier is also famous in the freeride world, with 7 secure, marked but ungroomed routes, such as the Mont-Gelé, the Col des Mines, the Vallon d’Arbi and the Mur de Chassoure. All are guaranteed to bring a thrill of excitement to those who have already ventured there. These itineraries allow you to make the best of the powder snow in safe conditions.

Personally I think this is one of the best Ski resorts in Europe, Swiss efficiency to make it a wonderful experience for any size group, any age and any level of ability on skis or boards or even sledges.

the Classical Music Festival which attracts people from all over the world and goes on for around a fortnight, the Beach Volleyball yes a beach volley ball competition 5000ft up in the alps, not surprising with Swatch being one of the largest sponsors of Beach Volleyball around the world the village use the trucks that are employed in the Winter months to transport snow out of the village to bring in a sand and turn one of the larger car parks into a beach that would not look out of place in Australia, top teams, and a spectacle for everyone not just beach volleyball fans, the Mountain Biking is huge, great runs and as soon as the ski season ends the ski racks are removed from the ski lifts and replaced with bike racks, routes marked and the organisation swung into place, where else can you be transported up a 10,000 feet mountain to cycle down ?

In nearby Martigny the ancient Roman arena is the place to go for Christmas Market style extravaganza with chariot and Gladiator displays, stalls and entertainers. White Water rafting is amazing as the snow melts on the upper slopes of the mountains. there are probably more options for things to do in the 4 Vallees Ski area than there are in the Winter months.

Verbier is truly a skiers paradise and certainly worth the effort to get there. It is well organized and lift /gondalas are all high speed and in goid working order.

They have something for everyone here, from ski school to expert double blacks.

No words can accurately describe the beauty of this town and resort.

This is a huge skiing area and one of the best that I have been. The condition of the snow was amazing. There were many intermediate runs around. The views at the top were breathtaking. The best part was that the skiers were scattered in different parts of the valleys, so you don’t waster too much time waiting for the lifts.

We stayed at Verbier and the Medran lift was a good place to start from. I would plan at least three days of skiing to be able to go through all the runs.

Definitely a good ski resort, with lovely locals, but soooooo expensive, $10 for a bottle of water, $30 for a beef burger - in a pub!! $350 a night for a single room in a basic B&B. $40 for a return trip pedestrian pass to lowest restaurant

Lots of good off piste, very poor trail maps and marking. Piste areas are narrow

There are so many other good resorts, at much much lower prices - why pay the enormous Swiss/Verbier premium, other than eg to show off to friends - it is all about the name?

Don’t book via alpsandchalets.com. It’s a fake site who sells chalets that don’t exist. They tell you to wire money for your stay and once received you will never hear of them again. It’s a lot of fake sites selling chalets in the Alps so be careful when booking.

Before reading this review please note that this was the first Swiss ski area that I have been to. So far I have been skiing in Austria, France, Italy, Poland and Australia. I loved Verbier despite the fact that lifts and ease of connecting between different skiing areas is not as good as in Austria. But the town is extremely picturesque and seems to have lots of nice restaurants and bars (we couldn't visit them due to Covid restrictions) and does have lovely shops. Once you get to know the slopes you can find long ones, which for me is important as I prefer to spend time on the snow and not in the lift. The areas has a nice selection of marked but not maintained ski routes designed for experienced skiers, which are not easy to find in Austria... and don't think exist in Australia. So if you like moguls and ice and rocks you will enjoy yourself. Try to go to Mont Fort for views and great skiing. I heard an opinion that Verbier is not suitable for beginners, its probably true for complete beginners but not for someone who have been skiing for couple of seasons. In our party we had an adult who skied only 3 seasons so far and he enjoyed himself... although decided to ski by himself not with us. Well run, well organised, very clean and with excellent service. Nice big rooms in neural colours with balconies, and little bathrooms, lots of storage. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Drinks in the bar with cards and games if you bring the games.

Great for on-piste and also very much for accessible off-piste skiing. Restaurants of good quality with a couple of 'special' restaurants on the mountain such as Carrefour and Chez Dany.
Verbier is certainly up there in terms of price, however worth it for the slopes.

Great skiing, a lot of runs but if you are a beginner can be a little steep and daunting. Pretty expensive but good local food on the mountain. Easy to get to on the train or bus if you aren’t staying in verbier. Picture perfect ski resort.

Verbier is a very nice town and the 4 Vallees ski area is fantastic . Verbier is in my opinion the best of the 4 Vallees but the pass gives you access to all of the resorts. The Epic pass gave us 5 days at the 4 Vallees since we booked with a qualified agency . We used Besson Immoblilier who were professional and nice . They arranged the 5 day ski pass and we bought an extra day pass and a full 6 days for my son. Nice restaurants and many condos available to rent . The people are very nice as is the resort .
