We stopped here on our way to the carriage ride up Val Roseg but the church was closed. It opens a little later in the day so we went back after the carriage. Nice murals or frescoes inside but no photos inside.

a short walk from the centre of Pontresina is this medieval church with beautiful frescos and views over the village and the valley. Next to it is an abandoned tower from a similar period. It's worth continuing the hike up the mountain over meadows or...More

At the height of the Alps you come across this little church with beautiful frescoes, The Burial Church of Santa Maria built in the 12th century. There is an interesting graveyard alongside the church.

The only thing to mention is that the church itself was only open from 3:30 to 5:30 at the end of August. If you want to see the inside, better check ahead to see if it will be open.

The church is old and simple. Don't expect Austrian style elaborate decoration. It's amazing how intact the Roman tower is given that historically this is the middle of nowhere.
