Nyon is a short train ride from Geneva. We paid to enter the chateau - the ticket entitles you to enter other museums in the town. The chateau had a few rooms to see over a number of floors. Probably of most interest was the old prison cells. The chateau has an elevated position close to the lake and the views from the chateau are very impressive.

Definitely not something for children or teenagers. To be frank, the best part about visiting the Musee de la Porcelaine is the excuse it provides to explore the inside of the old Chateau. The Chateau itself is well worth seeing especially the views over the lake and mountains but unless you have plenty of time, limit your visit to the outside of the Chateau and the square in front of the Chateau which is definitely worth a visit especially on a sunny day.,

This is a very old castle which adds so much charm to Nyon. A lot of high-schoolers and older people visit this place. The lake is beautiful and the other side is actually French. Some houses in the area are expensive although pretty to see. There are a couple of restaurants next to the chateau.

A bit different than ordinary museums, but fun to explore! You get to explore the castle and enjoy the view of Nyon from above.

I went here with my wife and her cousin. The porcelain was very interesting to he cousin who loves porcelain in general. If you don't like porcelain the museum also shows he history if he area. The chateau was a prison and also Nyon had a unique history of industry. Well worth a visit and the day we went was free!

Interesting museum. At the beginning u don't think there is much to see but u discover the expo is decent size. Nice collection of porcelaine. As well they constantly have new expos. Staff is nice and welcoming. Just don't expect Versailles quality stuff. For Swiss its good and if you are in nyon, it's a must culture visit. Bonus is the view of the lake from the chateau, it's AWESOME

The Nyon Castle is a somewhat underrated tourist attraction. Many tourists simply stop on the esplanade on the lakeside front of the castle to enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Geneva and, on a clear day, of the Alps and Mont Blanc. But the interior of the castle has so much else to offer. In the basement, you have a 'carnotzet', where you can taste locally produced wine and sample some simple local specialties. Then you have the Porcelain Museum, as well as exhibition rooms with antique furniture and the history of the castle, of Nyon and of the region. And on the uppermost level, you can visit what used to be police retention and in fact prison cells right up until 1978-9.

Nice visit in a castle with a superb view of Mont Blanc and Alps; they have a well made audio-guide. The visit price includes 2 other museums worth of a visit walking distance. Plan 5 to 6 hours for all 3.
