Booked a ladies day spa package which was a full day including afternoon tea.. Staff were very friendly and helpful and treatments were very good. The afternoon tea was a bit of a let down were practically ignored most of time had to keep getting up to get waitress attention - apart from that spa facilities were great, very clean and would return.

I have not been to many Spas and so can not really compare this with others. The treatments myself and my fiance had were gifts for Christmas. Looking at the price list, they seemed rather expensive, though in line similar spas I have no doubt.

Because they were specific treatments we had booked (rather than a package) we had to pay extra to use the other facilities - jacuzzi etc. This was not a major problem.

Treatments themselves were good. Even though I had an intense deep tissue massage (and heard lots of knots creaking and cracking) it was still very relaxing overall.

The pool/jacuzzi area is quite intimate and I think is limited to a maximum of 12 people which was nice. For quite a bit of the time we had the area to ourselves.

As stated, I can't really compare this with other places. But based on the day I had (which was largely paid for by someone else) a score of 4 seems fair and appropriate.

We booked a spa day here in March. Unfortunately this was cancelled and I asked for a refund. It is now over 7 months later and I have not received this despite chasing regularly. Completely fobbed off by management who apparently don’t know who accounts are and aren’t refunding. Was told in September it would be 28 days still nothing and on enquiry told I was told that “hopefully I’ll receive it soon”. Completely understand that these are difficult times but some honesty and transparency would be nice!! Please save your money as you won’t get a refund if it’s cancelled. Am not seeking through a small claims court.

Would not waste your money on a spa day here. Went as a treat for me and my daughter and was told we couldn't have afternoon tea so had sandwiches instead. Please see photo attached of my daughters beef roll, she had also requested no butter as she is dairy intolerant. Wasn't edible plus when the scones arrived were burnt and the plain ones were so salty couldn't be eaten. Have twice sent an email and had no response at all. Our therapist had only been there for 3 days and had no training apart from college a year ago. The back massages were not good at all.

I received a weekend spa day voucher for my birthday. It has to be used before 20th November. I only found out when I called Orsett Hall to book and was told to email Sophie at Kuana as they are not honouring any vouchers. No response, phone line listed on Google for the spa at Orset Hall now seems to be disconnected. Really cross as is my darling friend who gave it to me. A warning to others in the same position. Bad form on Orsett Hall for not helping at all.

Worst Spa I have ever been to left after an hour and without having treatments.
We was gifted a voucher in March and could not redeem until July.. We rung up 3 days before as we could not remember our treatments we had booked to be told they had no booking for us after waiting 4 months.

Stay clear of buying voucher as you will have multiple problems. They also do not send confirmations or reply to emails/phone calls.

There is NO outdoor area at all for the spa facilities.
There is NO lay down loungers around the pool.
There is NO where to relax within the 9 hours your expected to stay

The above has been stated in multiple reviews dated back 2016 and clearly have not been addressed by the manager/owner Sophie.

Overall small and claustrophobic spa facilities - I would say it’s more a beauty salon offering spa like treatments. I have felt more relaxed at my waxing salon.

Whilst sitting outside having a cup of tea you are surrounded by people awaiting to go to weddings.
Weddings events under loading vans whilst you are sitting in your swimming coustumes/ropes. Non sercluded to other members of the public, making you feel vulnerable and exposed.

Lunch was a baguette or a jacket potatoes when realistically a lighter lunch would be idea when having massage.

We was sold a luxurious spa day and I would not call there pool facility relaxing, the chairs were upright and uncomfortable with the odd stool dotted around. It was so cramped. We was packed like sardines. There was no air what so ever and was unbearable for me being an asthmatic.

We was advised to arrive at 9am to use the facilities, we left after an hour

Sophie the manager is the most unprofessional manager I have ever come across her attitude stinks. She made excuse after excuse and took no responsibility for the appalling service and would not offer a refund.
Birthday present well and truly ruined and £230 wasted.

AVOID AT ALL COST

I recently went to the Kukana spa with a friend. We originally wanted to book the luxury spa day and despite leaving messages on their answerphone they didn't respond. I was told that the 2 messages that I left we not on the phone.
Because my partner complained about them not returning my call they fitted two of us into a fully booked day for a ladies day package.
The first disappointment was the pool it was COLD !!! When I want to relax and be pampered I don't want a freezing pool. There were no lounging beds around the pool only upright chairs. There was a jacuzzi which had no hand rail it was quite dangerous as when you climb out you are wet so they need to get that issue dealt with.
We were told the spa opened at 9 and were not told the times of our treatments in advance. We had our treatment at 12.30 for an hour and then we had to wait until 3.30 for our allocated slot for afternoon tea. I just didn't understand why our treatment came with afternoon tea. It should have been a lunch.
Because of the long wait after the treatment we sat in the lounging room. It was very small and not a nice room with the lovely heated lounging beds. It had wicker furniture and the room just wasn't relaxing. In the time we sat it the room we spoke to almost everyone that came in. They all told virtually the same story. 3 more women had been squeezed in meaning they were at least 5 people over capacity.
It was very busy there lots of women had the time of their treatments change at short notice. They all complained about the lack of communication through the return of phone calls. Really I'm not even going to mention the facial and body wrap, they need to sort the basics out before I will go there again.
Staff were polite

Tried to book using vouchers purchased as a present, which included tea for two and a couple of spa experiances. Company in liquidation and Orsett Hall seem to have washed there hands of any responsibility all be it according to the solvency report, it was the way they upped the rents, and then gave the company notice to wind up its operation, so they could then take it over. Then not honour or at least compensate vouchers owners, shame on you Orsett Hall. Would have given zero rating but you don’t allow

My partner spent £180 per person for the 'Luxury Spa Day'. Unfortunately it was not luxury at all!!

No welcome drink, no slippers, no where to sit other than the restaurant to relax....
oh the 'relaxation room' but limited seating and very poor lighting! Certainly not a room to sit and chat...
Cold jacuzzi and not many seats around the pool.

Lunch consisted of the choice between jacket potato or sandwiches/baguettes!!
I could go on!!

I complained to the management and received a not very impressive response and excuses for everything.
Very poor and if you want luxury... this spa is one to avoid!!
