- Sandra S38 contributionsHad more expectationsIt was way too expensive for this price. The aquarium is very small and does not have many tanks and animals to look at. The most interesting were the sharks and the rays although the tanks are probably too small for the animals. The food in the restaurant in the aquarium is very delicious.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 4, 2024
- Alex196 contributionsOK for kids, but nothing more.Still interesting for children but overall also quite expensive compared to the size of the aquarium. Acceptable for a bad weather day, though not long. Some of the fish shown on the panels are not present.Written July 23, 2024
- Rune87Aarhus, Denmark204 contributionsGood fun on a rainy dayOk fun on an island where the weather can force one inside. Nice conditions for the animals, apparently. A little quickly over - but this is also understandable since it is, after all, on an island. The price is appropriate for the experience.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 14, 2024
- SeriousForchheim, Germany474 contributionsFor bad weatherSmall aquarium, presentation old-fashioned, highlights are medium-sized sharks and rays, but there are a number of smaller fish to see. Typical North Sea fish are few and far between, but it is interesting for children and adults. The tanks are clean, but the descriptions of the animals do not always fit. You can comfortably spend a good hour. 3:00 is shark feeding. Admission fee is unfortunately relatively high, but it is a day ticket that entitles you to multiple admissions. The aquarium has a children's playground for the little visitors.Visited January 2025Traveled with friendsWritten January 14, 2025

This is a relatively small aquarium, but the exhibits are very well done. They have a feeding tank with a few seats in a mini-auditorium where you can watch the feeding every day, in our case it was at 15:00, but check at the information to be sure you don't miss it as it was well worth the half hour. There is a small restaurant which was not as over-priced as usual for such a venue. The gift shop is full of the expected kitsch, but there is also a mini-golf outside. We were too early for the feeding, so went out to play mini-golf and then returned to see the feeding. Be sure to ask, though, before going out, because the signs say that after leaving the aquarium, return on the same ticket is not permitted. However, we were able to do this with no problem. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always around to answer questions. This aquarium is worth the couple of hours, and a great way to spend an afternoon when it is too hot or too rainy for the beach.

It's a small aquarium located next to the city centre and the beach. We were there with the one year old baby. He couldn't walk by himself yet but it was not a problem at all. We left the stroller next to the entrance and carry the infant on our hands. It was a good choice. Our son had a great time, he was very excited. There are fish tanks and glass tunnels where you can watch colorful fishes and sharks swimming around you.
There is also a small playground in front of the aquarium (with cars for children), gift shop inside and some kind of restaurant.
In general, I recommend to go to the aquarium if you are with small children and/or the weather is not nice.

Entrance fee for an aquarium of this size is very expensive. The tanks are very small and there are hardly any fish. There were dead fish swimming in one or two of the tanks. Everything was very outdated. We finished the tour in 15 minutes. In the restaurant outside, a bowl costs 6 euros, which is also very expensive. Only the lady at the cash register was very nice. Not worth a visit.

We arrived at 10:00 and we were still told there was fish feeding in 15:00.
Full of positive expectations, we are pure, but fundamentally disappointed. The pools totally unkempt and the air stuffy in them.
Not even 30 minutes, then we were already through, despite dawdling.
But then completely overpriced.
Not recommended.
We do not understand why this activity is so highly touted.
Other aquariums are worlds better. This has been the most disappointing yet.
It wasn't worth it.

Looks old and unlovingly designed. Admission very expensive, after 40min you are easily through, including longer stay due to feeding. Maybe something for totally rainy days when you have seen everything else and love fish behind glass.

HELLO DEAR
You might be allready in Denmark - the danish Westcoast in Jutland / Soendervig Badevej - Maybe you are lucky to stay in Heraklit House in the dunes there and wish to take a trip to the German Island SYLT. It is a pleasure. I was there last week by car. From Soendervig Badevej to the Port in Sylt I needed 3 hours incl. the beautiful Ferry Trip - 40 min. -
I enjoyed the drive all the way. We have excellent ways in Jutland. First you head sout to RØMØ and find the Port HAVNEBY. Pay you ticket for car and persons and you will have the chance to see Sylt from the sea. They have a nice Ferry with chairs outside in the sun. Typical big closed chairs.
Sylt is a long spectacular Island for the riches from Germany. They have invested in beautiful expensive classic houses. Some for rent.
You may wish to leave Denmark Heraklit House about 7 : 30 and have good time to
the Ferry 10 : 25 ( check yourself the Sylt Ferry in google )
You will see the pay beach and Restaurants and nice shopping with Hermes Burberry Louis Vuitton Gucc and much more... restaurants and Cafes. The dunes are splendid.
Welcome to SYLT and meet the beautiful houses and the dunes.

The building is quite small but inside is really nice .
It was the first time that I have ever visited an Aquarium so I enjoyed it a lot !
They have a peaceful Musik on the background that makes you feel you are near the see or you are exploring something.
Also there is a small room inside the Aquarium where you can watch a documentary about the life unter the see!

Very well kept fish house.
It may not be as spectacular as Sea world but has some excellent species.
People who can visit this in 30 minutes know nothing about fish.
As a previous fish keeper and a marine biologist I found it very interesting
My young 7 year old was hard to tear away from the tanks.
Shark tunnel with large species of different fish therein.
Seating area to watch the feeding and a film theatre.
Difficult to find as signposted throughout the main town but then leaves you dry and it took us 20 minutes to find
We were told that was because its not owned by the city but is a private business.
Beach really nice by the parking.

This is a charming little aquarium that can be visited in around 20-30 minutes. The exhibition of the local fish was very well set and educational. There is a family-friendly restaurant on site and during our visit they had a huge trampoline. All in all, we spent around 2 hours there between the restaurant, the aquarium and the playground, having a relaxed afternoon. Not a must-see - but entertaining nevertheless.
