If you want to know about storm surges and local history of dyke construction there is no better place. A fascinating wealth of maps and models - not just of dykes, but also the local vernacular architecture.

Very interesting Information about the "Deichbau"

In this Museum you find many information about local House Construction and " Deichbau" and also some interesting details about how they lived and dressed in earlieer times in this part of germany.

A good museum

We were staying in Husum and visited the museum. We were given and English booklet to help language. The museum houses everything to do with the sea faring side of Husum, from boats which are old and the ship building.
